eight moon, fifth day, 2025 Liz and i were able to find two dried ghasts in the soul sand valley in Minecraft last night. we brought them to the overworld and rehydrated them in the pond beneath our moon house. we wated for them to grow and when they did, we rode them up into the sky. hot air balloon we gaze at the cotton candy sunset we named the happy ghasts Oswald and Penguin after the cartoon series Oswald. though the actual name of the penguin in that series is Henry. we only found out after we nametagged them.

eight moon, third day, 2025 on my way home coming from the bridge. amid swarm of cicada killer wasps cicada husk what a terrible fate it is to spend years of your life underground just to emerge into a land full of predators. it makes me feel so bad for them. it's just a husk though so i don't really know what happened to the actual cicada. and the killer wasps! they're actually gentle giants. i used to be terrified of them until i found out they are harmless. now i can walk through a swarm of them without any worries.

that I possess only
the heart of a child,
turned towards shadow play,
unblinded by the light.

eight moon, second day, 2025 my uncle and i decided to go to the library after i cut his hair. i've been wanting to get a library card for a while now so we drove there this morning to get one. library the receptionist hands me a flower pen i love the library so much. i decided this is where i am going to revise my script in the next couple of months. it's just so quiet and peaceful and i love the smell of books. it got me so inspired. i went to search for haiku books in the catalog and i found some! i decided to borrow one for now and it's called "A Beginner's Guide to Japanese Haiku" by William Scott Wilson. also, i found a writer's club in the brochure and it happens to be on my next weekend off! how amazing is that? i am so excited and also quite nervous. but mostly excited!

seventh moon, thirty-first day, 2025 on our hillside deck after taming six parrots and two rusty wolves in Minecraft. jukebox parrots of all colors dancing the night away Liz loved the dancing parrots. she played several discs with her jukebox and we watched the parrots bob their heads up and down all night long. they're just so cute! we named four of them. i named one of the blue ones "Blue," the red one "Red", then Liz named the white parrot "Nigel," and the cyan one "Wilbur."

seventh moon, twenty-seventh day, 2025 in my room before i went to bed. orange night lamp admiring the trinket box she made for me i love it so much. it's a very special box. Liz drew paper lanterns on it using black, silver, and gold markers. it reminded me of the time when we sat in a boat under hundreds of sky lanterns in Minecraft back in march. that night was just magical. and now i have this lovely lovely box that will remind me of that beautiful moment forever.

speaking of fears, i want to share a writing exercise i did for the writers’ circle two weeks ago. we were asked to think about what our fear is and then try to personify it. we only had fifteen minutes but these are the ones that came into mind that day.
