Just finished “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison. I cried and cried and cried again. It’s tricky finding the words to describe this novel.
It’s beautifully crafted, but gut wrenching. I can’t stop thinking what became of Pecola.
What does one read after this? I definitely want another TM novel.

Beginner or Pro, I’d love to hear your thoughts if you practice this.
This simple act has shown me many things, but most notably, has reduced the number of times I’ve replied/heard a lackluster or immediate “Good”.
It also has grown my understanding of how my community is feeling.
Most of the time, it seems to surprise the other person, then they usually reply back with their own number.
When asked, I do more often than not.
I pause for reflection, and answer with a number— if I’m feeling fancy, there’s a unit in the hundredths place.
