Not quite the set of legends you have, but still a collection of 9 HoFers (plus two extra very good 2b).
It was either this or Siamese Dream.
$10? It was worth $15 the last time I drank it. π
That will do for now. Time to start researching which prospects might be available at 1.15 for the minor league draft.
π¨LOOKING FOR EVALUATORSπ¨
We are looking to add to our pro-side staff. Individuals will work on offseason content including scouting reports as well as provide MiLB insight during the season. Send a DM to @rhyswhite.bsky.social on here or email at rhysbrandonwhite@gmail.com
4 of my first 7 picks were pitchers. With no βbalancedβ hitters to pull from I punted steals. (Viable in h2h format)
With a league this deep I feel very uneasy with several starting bats, I will need to prioritize close proximity hitting prospects if I want to compete in 2025.
Draft complete, but Iβll continue the thread with some reflection.
20t dynasty startup, MLB draft with separate prospect draft later.
I had 5 batters ranked ahead of skenes and they all went ahead of him so I took him at 6. This set my strategy, especially when Crochet lasted to my 2nd pick.
Bench IF
25.6(486) V. Grissom
Boston must have seen something to trade Sale for him⦠right?
34.15(675) R Tellez
According to fantrax ADP (762) I over drafted. π if he signs with a team heβs worth the stash. Otherwise he is replaced by a prospect come April.
Bench OF
At this point Raley/walker/hays/fraley were holding 2 starting OF spots. I needed lottery tickets.
28.15(555) Jake suwinski
32.15(635) Oscar Colas
33.6(646) Sam Hilliard
35.6(685) Miguel Andujar
I hope one gets LASIK, goes to driveline or shows up to ST in the best shape of their life.
Bench catcher
27.6 (526) Mitch Garver
20 team 1 catcher leagueβ¦ I wasnβt sure I wanted a bench catcher, but garver pairs with big dumper and should probably be getting DH reps unless Seattle signs someone else. He also was one of the most appealing Ng power bats left at this stage.
Bench relievers
29.6 (566) Derek Law
30.15 (595) Yimi Garcia
Plenty of free agent closers on the market so bullpens will change a bunch, but they should at least be in the running for late inning work. After investing in Hader / Erceg earlier I wanted to spend the rest of my bench picks elsewhere.
After pick 450 Iβll summarize my bench picks by position. SP first
24.15 (475) Tyler Anderson
26.15 (515) miles Mikolas
31.6 (606) John Means
My pitching is strong but I have several guys coming off TJ so Anderson and Mikolas provide some IP options.
In this 2009 ESPN article, @robneyer.bsky.social called out exactly what would happen with Chase Utleyβs Hall of Fame candidacy due to the ridiculous way Gold Gloves have been determined.
This was shared by @hofutley.bsky.social on the other app.
Article link in reply.
21.6 (406) Juan Yepez
Penciling him in as my starting 1b makes me a bit queasy. Will be searching the trade market for upgrades
22.15 Andrew Heaney
Still 1k/ip and threw ~150ip each of the last 2 seasons.
23.6 Austin Hays
Giving him a mulligan for 2024 due to kidney infection.
18.15 (355) Jeimer Candelario
Should still be starting at GABP
19.6 Edouard Julien
I couldnβt figure out why 2024 was so bad. 2023 showed a lot of promise. π€·ββοΈ
20.15 Jake Fraley
I think all these three have platoon risk, but around pick 400 with no prospects to pull from they fill gaps.
15.6 Luke Raley
16.15 Otto lopez
Warm bodies with potential starting roles
17.6 Luis Garcia
Another TJ returnee. I have no problem stocking up on new elbow ligaments. π
14.15 walker Buehler
Another fangraphs aided pick. I think the biggest question with Walker will always be health, but it didnβt hurt to know his playoff success had a story behind it.

13.6 Tyler Fitzgerald
A lot of blue on that savant page, but I needed a SS to back up the not so reliable Correa. Unfortunately I wasnβt paying attention to the fact that the Giants are exploring options at SS.
10.15 Jordan Walker
Gotta take some shots, but I already want this one back.
11.6 Eugenio Suarez
Major power but so streaky
12.15 Lucas Erceg
Breakout with the Aβs stayed strong in KC.
9.6 Spencer Arrighetti
I love a good narrative and I was searching for one to support this pick. Lucky for me, fangraphs had the answer. Not in pitch graphs this time, just some good journalism.

8.15 (155) Carlos Correa
With all his injuries itβs not a feel good pick, but I needed to start building out my offense. Maybe Bregman or Jung were better choices. π€·ββοΈ
7.6 Josh hader
I think this was the third closer off the board. I felt like fortifying a strength (pitching) was important. Saves + holds/2 means a βcertifiedβ closer has value and Hader has little risk of being put in a setup role.
6.15 (115) Cal Raleigh
Bug dumper time! The offense is weak, but team statue should be able to smack some bombs.
5.6 Sandy Alcantara
He may not hit 200ip during his first season back from TJ, but I couldnβt let this workhorse drop any further. Remember, this format is H2H with IP as a category.
4.15 Brent Rooker
A 30 year old coming off a 39 HR season gets no respect when his home team is homeless. Plenty more round trippers coming in Sacramento. This is where I also decided I was punting SB.
3.6 Riley Greene
After two risky pitchers I went for a more stable but still young bat. I also have this really fun rookie card of his. π
2.15 (35th) Garrett Crochet
Pocket Rockets! Yes this is high risk, but playing with these sharks I have to take my chances on this elite firepower. @sonny108.bsky.social took Matt Olson, my other strong consideration, directly after this pick.
I'm thrilled to participate in the @prospectslive.bsky.social staff/Patron dynasty league. A bit behind, but I'll follow suit with the staff who've posted their picks along the way. Not sure I can keep up with the same quality gifs as @drewisokay.bsky.social... but here we go.
1.6 Paul Skenes π§΅
