This is amazing but are you running a top secret theater operation? I can't find a single word about this online and a google image search brings up nothing.
Kinda weird that they don't specify who is paying for it and who is being paid. Normally not a difficult or interesting question, but in this case it is!
What a hero. A mom who lost her pension to do whatβs right. 1 bajillion times more courageous and heroic than so many leaders in politics, law, universities, corporations, media, and journalism
There is nothing more American than demanding a judicial warrant.
Coverage of protests is an essential beat in journalism.
And, in Rhode Island, nobody does that better than my friend and colleague @steveahlquist.bsky.social.
I just donated to support his work.
We're so lucky to have him here.
But it also DOESNβT MATTER, because freely sharing information about legal activities in a big public channel isnβt something you can disrupt by listening in. If ICE finds out we know where they are, so what? We still know where they are
Wild that there was an open lane called "what if we just explain things clearly to people?" and he's the first one to ever fill it
For the most part, wearing masks to shield your identity to protect yourself from retribution is ceding the whole playing field to the fascists. Not indulging in the weird black ops security theater is itself a statement: this is our world and you donβt dictate how we live in it.
Der Spiegel headline: Der ICE-Kommandant im Nazi-Look Martialisch und effektheischend, so tritt ICE-Kommandant Gregory Bovino gern auf.
I didn't say it. The Germans did.

TikTok is now under US ownership and their new ToS reads like a guide to giving fascists everything they need to put you on a list.
Theyβre collecting information about immigration status, citizenship, sexual orientation, whether youβre trans or non binary and physical or mental disabilities.

This is Minneapolis:
-drop the kids off for a day with their grandparents
-go to brunch with your wife
-get a text from neighbors who donβt have enough food & canβt leave home or they might be abducted by fed govt
-get groceries as helicopters roar overhead
-deliver food & this vehicle passes you
Get off our streets, ICE. You are the criminals. And thanks for the great reporting, @wpri12.bsky.social.
as a thought exercise for everyone reading ross douthat's latest missive in the NYT, i want you to think about sending an email to your entire company with the subject line "Did Women Ruin the Workplace?", then think about the over/under on the number of minutes/hours you would still be employed
Yeah man we should really fight back by staying on X
Cuts to cancer research should be framed in comparison to well known and loved local annual fund raising events. e.g, How much does the $5.7 million raised in this year's Jimmy Fund telethon compare to cuts to research across New England? Or $80 million all time?

You all remember from history class the Treaty of the Rhine we successfully negotiated with Hitler in December 1944 to end the war in Europe.
Also, as a teacher, I've had grad students in my classes, and they're mostly more trouble than their worth. Five would be a nightmare!
And the value of high school was reduced to "be ready for college."
So say we all.

Noticed the Providence Tesla distribution centerβs parking lot is now filled to capacity with 400+ cars. Could be about $20 million in stock. #teslatakedown
New in PN: Tesla Takedown takes down Musk
"While Musk isnβt vanquished, itβs important to recognize that he has, in at least a limited way, suffered a defeat. Itβs a reminder that billionaires are not all powerful, and that resistance isnβt futile."
This week got away from me a bit, but I've posted this Saturday's Tesla Takedown in Providence. Get your protest fix in. Looks like great picketing weather! ;-) #teslatakedown
