AI code generators build with their own defaults.

Your actual design system lives in Figma.

So we added a new remote endpoint tool to Figma Console MCP that lets tools like Lovable, v0, and Replit read your system directly from Figma.

We get asked a lot: how do you handle design system documentation?

Here’s the workflow:

Figma Console MCP β†’ generate component docs
Company Docs MCP β†’ publish to vector DB
Claude/Slack β†’ query it live

Docs as infrastructure.

What matters more than location is that the rules are explicit and enforced. Once you have strong parity and governance, β€œtruth” becomes portable.

20.02.2026 19:10 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

On the β€œsource of truth” question: I don’t think there’s a universal answer. It depends on team shape and where real decisions are being made.

Some teams anchor in code.
Some anchor in Figma.
Some anchor in a token repo or design contract.

20.02.2026 19:10 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Short answer: yes, you can absolutely start from code and reconstruct a system-aligned Figma file with components, variables, and tokens. It works best when the codebase is already structured and opinionated about tokens and semantics.

Design ↔ code drift is usually slow, subtle, and expensive.

I just published Part 1 & 2 of a demo showing how Figma Console MCP handles it both ways:

β€’ Design β†’ Code
β€’ Code β†’ Design

Detect drift. Decide what’s canonical. Re-align intentionally.

β€œThis is cute, but it’s not for enterprise design systems.”

That line stuck with me. So I unpacked why the exact work that looks small in a demo is what actually saves hours, prevents drift, and scales design systems in the real world.

Hot take that keeps proving itself:

Design systems don’t start in Figma or Storybook.
They start with tokens that know what they’re doing.

I shared a demo showing how that plays out when your system can actually carry context across design and code.

If you manage Figma as a designer, DS lead, or engineer
this is the glue.

This isn’t β€œAI reads from Figma.”
It’s read and write control across projects, tokens, components, and docs.

What the heck is A2UI anyway?

It’s not AI generating UI code. It’s AI describing intent for an interface, and your app rendering real components from your design system at runtime.

We built an open-source MCP for Harvest because some of the most important agency questions are still oddly hard to answer.

Profitability, utilization, margin by project or client, year-end summaries.

Now you can just ask and get deterministic answers back.
