Excellent flight across the South China Sea landing into KUL on time. MH product is decent with usb C charging and tablet holder. New Mercedes transfer to the satellite terminal!

Passport control at MNL T1 was easy and a relatively pain free security I headed to the A1 lounge for a quick coffee before heading to board flight MH805 bound for KUL. Today operated by a B737-800 9M-MXE

Good morning from DPS just boarded my 1am flight to MNL onboard flight PH538 my first time flying Philippines Airlines. Lovely menu but I think I’ll try maximise sleep if at all possible.

I can see where you are coming from but I prefer streaky bacon not back bacon 🥓 but Americans generally make it far too crispy.

You missed out not ordering the bacon chop at the CCR dining! It’s fantastic

Woke up to a lovely email from BA saying I had partner cards to share… which can only mean my latest flights have credited and I’m GGL status! Yay!

Time to do what BA accuse me of and rinse the lounge access for the next 13 months

Yes exactly! Which is why pax aren’t compliant cos everyone knows it’s nonsense. I even had the flight attendant unlock the toilet for me today - but we had been in smooth air for at least an hour! All I wanted was a mug of tea though and I got nothing!

If airlines expect pax to be more compliant with seatbelt signs they need to be more selective when the seatbelt sign comes on. I’m noticing a trend of extended seatbelt on sign in smooth conditions. This means no lavatory use or hot beverage service. And babies out of bassinets!

Boarding was also the shambolic process it usually is at KUL. The solution is agents need to stand inside the gate area and marshal boarding groups. At the jet bridge is too late! Every gets up and rushed the gate at the same time which seems to happen all the time at KUL

I must say MH managed the delay well in some aspects but poorly in others. Initial communication was great but it became clear they didn’t want to admit the additional 25min delay to make sure pax were at the gate. So we were all herded into the gate area before the aircraft even arrived

Good morning from KLIA1! After a good nights sleep at Ibis Styles Sepang, had a lovely laksa in the MH F Golden Lounge at Satellite terminal. Woke up to an alert from MH regarding delay so managed an extra hour in bed before heading to gate. Next stop DPS where I’ll be taking an extended break

My wrist hurts, no that’s not euphemism it’s been in too many airports with carpets! Bloody hell!

I really don’t understand this requirement of confirmed onward bookings as entry requirements, particularly in south east Asia. It’s outdated and impractical. Indonesia is particularly a scam - the $35 visa fee is particularly annoying and doesn’t go to upgrading infrastructure just in the pockets

No! I didn’t see it on the menu! Although the yuzu curd desert sounds vaguely like a take on a pav.

Finally QR platinum lounge. Entry confirmed and settled in for a cheeseboard, lemon tart and a coffee. Will have a shower then nap for a few hours. The staff are incredible!

Next up BA. Was interested to see what the lounge was like after a recent refurbishment. Was refused entry as not travelling on a BA flight but they quickly clarified the lounge “was closed” but not closed

QF: First lounge was welcomed in. Opted for dinner been craving their laksa for a while. Started with the prawn wontons which were excellent

It’s good but wanted to try something else. I’m also planning on checking out BA and QR before having a nap

I don’t think that’s fair tbh. While this announcement is opportunistic to say they aren’t closer to selling commercial flights is clearly untrue. They literally have an airplane, a deal with an operator to operate it, recruiting cabin crew etc.

Going to put the OW lounge policy to the test at SIN. My reading is same day and before 6am departure but I have a 6am departure…. I assume I’ll get pushback at most lounges but will try anyway. Worst case QR should let me in at 12am and I have plenty card access lounges
