I’ve been trying to clear out my studio a bit, little by little, so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. One massive bin bag full of books to the charity shop every week. That’s four weeks’ worth now, and the results so far are… completely indiscernible.

It is genuinely embarrassing how often I will find myself in a deep dark pit of existential despair and then realise that no, actually, I just have a bit of a cold. 🤷

I get very melodramatic when I have a cold apparently.

Sometimes I feel very emptied out and exhausted and hopeless and I just want to give up on comics altogether, give up on it all, and then I remember: Neill, you just have a cold. Have a lemsip or something. Fuck’s sake.

I think just having stuff around is really underestimated, stuff that's not especially designed to maximise learning or "high quality" but that is in some way part of everyday life already. Stuff on paper was great for that.
