Good, b/c you haven't said anything yet, just emoted.
Good, b/c you haven't said anything yet, just emoted.
2/But disaster more likely to happed if you give a loaded bazooka to a bunch of overactive children in the playground of Gov., trying to live up to dreams they haven't a hope of costing, & haven't fully thought through in terms of execution, b/c they don't understand the realities of Gov.
1/Can't say you don't get idiotic career politicians bungling economic policy: can't always expect chancellors to be like Gordon Brown, who, Joseph-like planned for & steered us through the recession. Churchill bungled the gold standard & conceded he was the worst chancellor ever..(cont)
He is Trump's mini-me, his avatar in all things authoritarian.
2/& in opposition, the cat lady , Widdicombe delivered a steely knife to the back of that "..creature of the night", Howard , that became her signature power play.
1/They all do. Reform is riven with factions, but they will all keep a public smile on their..faces until they get into government. Then the bloodletting will begin. The Tories under Major were hardly a shining example of unity. (cont)
How about standing in front of an armoured big Mack with fries & a coca-cola on the side? As strategic as a Komodo dragon contemplating biting it's next dinner.
Yes I think this is the heart of it. Labour are not expected to behave like Tories or reform on issues like Trans. yet too often they have shown the authoritarianism of Tories or the cruelty of Reform, when they really could make a difference in sound progressive legislation.
This is a proposal still, so right thinking brits have time to oppose it. Labour hasn't yet endorsed. It but we do have to provide an alternative to handcuffing, where asylum seekers are refused asylum & they & their families refuse to leave. How are they to be safely removed?
They think they are playing video games & are trying to appeal to those who routinely invest in Nintendo & online games. Criminal horror being so maliciously bowdlerized.
2/Not be give the keys to the toy car of authority & invited to get in & drive it without any training.
1/But the Greens have no real idea how to safely go about it without endangering the foundations of a safe & structured economy & constitutional foundations. They need to be tempered by real experience in or close to Government. (cont)
& remember , it is only part of a Home Office proposal, so Cabinet has not determined it yet. If asylum is refused, & the family refuse to leave, what proposals do you have to humanely remove children who are resisting deportation?
It is terrible & must be fought. But it will b/come a common sight if reform gets in. Out task is to challenge it no, so it does not become a precent.
I am not sure how committed he is to being an MP & representing his electorate. Breaking things & getting power is his real thrill. The mechanics of everything seem to bore him, especially his representative role as an MP.
Possibly, but he often looks like that, so profound panic must be his meme....
& making such a call to a radical, extreme theocratic dictatorship determined to survive is so utterly naive it is further evidence of a diseased mind.
4/That's what Christ meant when he urged us to love our neighbour as ourselves...
3/Otherwise we are back in the extreme, dirty diseased polarised economic conditions of ancient Rome. (cont)
2/While I agree that people should be encouraged to take charge of their own lives, there are always those whose circumstances require a level of support, either temporary or for a longer term & an inclusive , democratic state must be prepared to take on that responsibility. (cont)
1/The Tories & their heirs & assigns, Reform, do not believe in welfare. A caring society sharing it's wealth to the huddle sick & poor is anathema to the wealthy classes , of whom they are the servants. (cont)
Nor do you say it with any thoughtfulness or intellect. Clearly not a believer in free speech, b/c you rail against the speech you do not like without setting out logically why you think it is wrong.
Starmer is not a man of good judgement & , like Blair is a wolf in liberal's clothing. I agree with that.
Read my posts , I am not on board with him. I just object to a rigid premise that: (a) Starmer is a racist, therefore (b) everything he says is racist, without thinking through what exactly he is saying & trying to understand why he is saying it. You are strong on passion but short on objectivity.
Fine by me. You clearly aren't interested in balanced & fair discussion. I am dangerous to your angry prejudices. I understand the anger, but to reach objective conclusions you have to struggle to see round it.
Yes, we have to change Labour back to a party in touch with its roots. Not necessarily left wing but not centre right either. With decisive leadership of courage & good, clear communication instead of Starmian doublespeak.
3/Yet signs of green shoots, but for Iran War strangling oil production & putting up prices. All this encourages tribal competition: "white is good" "coloured" is bad. We abandon the supertribe, for a smaller tribal grouping that we can identify with. It is the reverse gear of civilisation.
2/Frightened by the flood of misinformation on the internet undermining our certainties.T he economy isn't f****d up but it is under strain. Some of it evolves from Brexit, Tory mismanagement & covid, but Labour decision-making has not filled us with confidence. (cont)
1/That's partly true. But I think it runs deeper than that. I think people are frightened. Frightened by Russia & China & the fear of nuclear war. Frightened by Nazi America. Frightened by their own struggles to find quality of life in a world constantly changing & in crisis. (cont)
Although Trump is Atilla the Hun.
