It's 1am, I am damp from rain, so very tired, & am being clawed to hell by my kitten

East Lawrence Record Club will spin this on Monday 3/16 at Lucia in Lawrence. Come hear it through a boss club system. Needle drop at 7pm.
Please god let this end the funniest possible way
As we're a little under 2 weeks out from St Patrick's Day, I'd like to remind everyone as a former baker that making Irish soda bread is easy as fuck & paying someone to do it is ridiculous.
What now?
Very much My Sort of Thing.
Been crashing out at weird hours & sleeping far more than usual, yet I feel pretty rested & all right otherwise.
I'm aware that sounds contradictory.
New episode day! We're talking about director Gavin Poloneβs Satanic slasherΒ Psycho Killer, in theaters now. We also suggest some more road trip horror, while taking a side trip into Hockey Corner vis-a-visΒ Heated RivalryΒ &Β Shoresy. We're also getting into how we're practicing self care these days.
With THE BRIDE! out soon, I'd like to remind you I've been a fan of Jessie Buckley since the release of WILD ROSE. open.spotify.com/episode/3r1h...
Watching a screener of TOUCH ME in hopes of securing an interviewing Jordan Gavaris.
WHO WANTS TO PAY ME TO ATTEND BEYOND CHICAGO, WATCH MOVIES, & WRITE ABOUT THEM?
Honey Bunch was legit great. So excited for this.
Y'all need to see MESSIAH OF EVIL. It's brilliant dreamlike horror which would pair perfectly with DEAD & BURIED.
It was either this or Alice Cooper once did a Lou Reed impersonation for me/Brian Wilson doing a David Lee Roth impersonation.
The lead singer of Missing Persons once told me she loved me.
Extremely funny to hear "900 people would lose billions but still be rich and every single member of the middle class--millions of people--would get a check big enough to not have to stress about rent for a month or two" portrayed as a BAD thing
Paternal: Army vet turned auto worker.
Maternal: Carpenter/home builder.
My dad was a factory machinist & my mom was a nurse.
Fuuuuuck. I am IN.
We talk about this on tomorrow's @reportcarnage.bsky.social episode, but I will definitely say that having a thing I do & to which people look forward is a form of self-care.
Panic Fest returns to Kansas City next month, and with it it's bringing a killer lineup that includes over fifty feature films and eighty shorts.
Trivia was fun.

Fine. I'll do chores, but only because it allows me to avoid something else.
Esmerelda has decreed I will not be leaving the couch to write or edit the podcast. Trivia prep is also on hold.
Maybe I'm finally caught up on sleep, but I'm willing to go back to bed in order to be certain.
Grace Glowicki is an incredible monster (complimentary) of an artist, and I am so glad she's having a moment.
(Ben Petrie's pretty great too, and everything they do together is worth your time.)
It'd been a day & I needed no more stress.
Special screenings either have those or none of those & I wasn't gonna stress drive to the theater, only to find out I missed the first 5 minutes.
99% of the time, when I work the Tuesday short bridge shift, I'm off by 7:30. The ONE NIGHT I buy a movie ticket for an 8pm screening, it doesn't happen. Not enough time to make it there before the movie starts. Dammit.
Having drank half a pot of coffee, consumed lunch, & written 2 articles, I now feel that having to go to work is bullshit. This is a rainy, gloomy day, & my cats need me to cuddle them & vice-versa.
