I feel like a lot of make-your-own-difficulty stuff is in part driven by devs being insecure about their own difficulty balancing. Cuz if you give players all these opt-out features, if a difficulty mode's poorly balanced then it's not on the devs, it's on the players for not using OP stuff
โthe problem is everyone is making multiplayer games, we want single playerโ no the problem is theyโre not making games at all, theyโre making monetization structures and then building a potemkin village game around it to sucker you in. at no point in the process does โis it funโ get asked.
new worst thing since the mouthwashing devs referring their fans as "this fandom," as if they themselves are part of the fandom for their own game. you can't do this man. we need to put walls back up between devs and their audience. please.
This crap is the same as people on TikTok skipping everything but the dialogues while reading and should be met with the same scorn
People don't deserve art.
The only Wizardry I played were 6 and part of 8 but now I really wanna explore 1 to 5 and the japanese ones. This type of stuff is exactly what I want in an rpg.
The game starts slow with a boring couple of dungeons but once you beat those it just gets better and better. For now it has a fantastic curve where every dungeon is more complex than the previous.
Same with encounter design, enemies continue to become more and more dangerous.
Secon floor has a room that is pitch black. Not dark, pitch black. You don't see anything but black.
This is the best game ever made.
Forgot to say if you hit a teleporter there's no feedback or animation, you have no idea you've been teleported until you open your limited map, realize it by drawing your own or check after every dead end.
I swear Elminage Gothic gets better with every dungeon. This is the first floor of the Igdra Underground Church, every letter is a teleporter, green is the starting point, red is the destination.
I love this game, it's criminal that no one talks about this series.
Kojima really was ahead of his times.
May I recommend the best modern ninja game, "Shadow of the Ninja Reborn" ?
Good morning
Elminage Gothic is absolutely fantastic and totally evil (endearing)
a ripped bipedal chicken with four muscular arms wearing a wrestling singlet. he's a stupid bastard who you have to watch attack for 75% of the run because he's super fast and you can't possibly escape him
pictured: a stupid asshole
Reformatted my Dark Magician Girl piece to be a card, series 2 coming very soon (and with texture)! Stay tuned!!
it's all just art. "porn" is just art that makes you horny, in precisely the way that "horror" is art that makes you scared and "metroidvania" is art that makes you write video essays
sometimes it feels like people just want to make high score chaser arcade games but people won't buy them unless you add on randomized roguelite upgrades like hiding a dog's pill in a piece of cheese
For Midori, a big part is also the fact that the Yen is weak, but last trip I bought 4 or 5 notebooks of different sizes and spent around 25/30 euros.
A single A4 here in Italy costs like 20. So it's way more convenient.
If you are planning a trip it's better to wait yeah. Stores like LOFT and Itoya (the flagship in Ginza is gigantic) have an incredible selection of stationery in general and you will find way more stuff and at way better prices. If you also like traditional stuff, Kyukodo is also incredible.
Yeah Moleskine quality is oretty terrible now, especially compared to the price.
Japanese brands like Midori and Kokuyo (or Hobonichi if you need a planner) are easily the best for quality. They tend to cost a lot outside of Japan tho.
"Where are the unlocks? Where are the exp bars? Where are the taskbars? How can you enjoy this without any checklist to fill that indicates you did something?"
Daisoujou is my favorite skeleton

The game seems really interesting and I respect a dev that stick to its guns. It's a shame he used AI however.
