And it's all pearls -
A feminine torso in a plae bodysuit, long thighs and narrow waist compressed with thick elastic bands wound around with pearls in cream and white and pale pink to create a thigh harness that presses into the plump of their skin. The light is even and soft, their skin tender pink.

A femme person sitting on a bed with black sheets heaps of white lace. Their knees are spread and deeply embossed with the red moats left form kneeling hard on large pearls. Pearls wrap around their waist and thighs and shoulders, tangled in their hair. They wear black lipstick, and their gaze, fixed, looks into nothing.

The world is both beautiful and deadly, isn't it?

All My Dead Cats and Other Losses: Practicing Good Grief in a Culture That Fears Mourning Practicing Good Grief in a Culture That Fears Mourning

So uh.

I've spent the last five years working on a book about grief, mourning, who is allowed to grieve and how, and where we go from here, and...

I did a thing.

Hear me on Jules Smith's podcast Fearless Practice chat about how I got into the field of sex therapy.

On Apple Podcasts (please comment so Jules can get those nice numbers up because they're a nice person) or wherever you get your listening freak on.

A book cover for my next book entitled "little violence" it is a queer Noir romance set in the Southern United States, about the difference between secrets and lies, lust and love, and how things worth dying for are also worth killing for, It is a story of obscured and partial truths.

The cover is a plume of billowing white smoke, The title is written in stark letters filling the frame, smokey grey and partially hidden by plumes of smoke. The tagline ' a queer southern romance' and my name 'lauren jane k' are more visible. The cover has a faint pink undertone, a little blush of innocence it most certainly does not deserve.

In the sweltering heat of a Savannah summer, a missing Civil War-era photo album sets two strangers on a collision course of danger, desire, and obsession.

Brock Charlestonβ€”a private investigator with a penchant for finding what shouldn’t
existβ€”is hired to recover the photo album after its seller is brutally murdered. The deeper he digs into Savannah’s underground erotic world, the more the whispers start pointing toward one unlikely witness: Ronnie Barbarian, a queer tattooed cellist grieving her grandmotherβ€” and hiding a past she refuses to name.

Ronnie wants nothing to do with Brock or the violent world circling around her. Brock wants nothing to do with the sharp, magnetic pull he feels toward her. But when a second threat emerges, the two are forced together in a collision of grief, heat, and unraveling secrets.

An erotic queer noir from @storyperfectbooks.bsky.social , a collision of grief, heat, and unraveling secrets as two people fight to protect queer identity & stories in a violent world

You have infinitely more in common with everyone brutalized by a government than you do with any government

Sometimes spending time with a cat means being woken up at five in the morning because that's when they choose to knock over a clothes drying rack that you had leaning against a wall, sending them running to hide and flooding you with an adrenaline spike that your body really doesn't need today.
