(That said, they have access to stuff now I wouldn't have been able to get ahold of ever back then, cos creativity finds a way, I guess)

Weirdness...I had Andy Gibb's "Shadow Dancing" suddenly stuck in my head for some reason, even though I hadn't heard it since I was a kid. It's such a strange song to get in my head, I wondered if there was some meaning... I looked it up and discovered today is the anniversary of his death. o_O

I know, right? It broke my brain. *And* I got in trouble for arguing with the pastor, too. I expected that a religion worth its salt could stand up to a little debate!

But he is talking, and the text tells us that he is saying, "Beware of this and that." Honestly, you feel his message in your bones.
Some days I just feel like this Edward Gorey bird gets it.
This seemed willfully cruel (we're talking eternal damnation, after all) and directly contradicted the message of "God is love" that we were also expected to accept.
This was the point past which I could not progress. I was 14 years old.
Being told that even babies who had not asked Jesus for salvation would be condemned to eternal hell. This confused me, because how could a baby be expected to do such a thing? I argued with the pastor. Wouldn't God understand this and not punish an infant?
"Sorry, that's the way it is." he said.

A ripped off sticker on a road sign, caught in my torch light, is a full moon cresting a hill.
Just to the side of this sign, the road wound up to the real moon, making this sign seem slightly magical.
