It's wonderful to see the return of longstanding female Osprey CJ7 back at the nest site at Careys Secret Garden, having arrived yesterday evening. She has now ousted the prospecting female 1H1 and is enjoying her place back on the nest with male 022.

Osprey perched on a branch against a blue sky. Mostly white bird with brown wings, black eye stripe, brown streaking on head above bill, a hooked bill, and powerfully sharp talons.

For #TalonTuesday, an Osprey. In coastal Native American tribes, the osprey is seen as a guardian and spiritual protector. The US could really use more of this, especially after recent security breaches. 😞

Spectacular Winter Safari this morning. 2 WT Eagle (1 adult, 1 2nd cal year), 3 Goshawk displaying, 1 male Hen Harrier, 4 Bearded Tit, Marsh Harrier, 1 BN Grebe, 1 C Gulliemot, c200 Avocet + ‘the usual’!

1w Booted Eagle at Crowlas, Cornwall gave some great views today (2nd Mar 25) after departing the A394 roost site early morning. Settled on fence post then thermalled high above Ludgvan and the A30 before drifting north. Now the 7th week in the area.
