They should pray for brains.

A person, rendered tiny by the vast landscape around them, stands atop a knuckle of white brain rock at the edge of a chasm. The geology of the terrain is astonishingly complex and artistic, as if swirled in a blender. A few puffy clouds hover in a pale blue sky.

It is apparently impossible for an Instagrammer to refrain from having their picture taken while standing on this particular prominence.

Enquiring minds (well, MINE anyway) want to know what shutter speed you used.

A telephone pole reaches skyward from a flat area covered with scrub brush. There are no wires attached to the pole, with appears to have never been used for the purpose. Behind it is a steep cliff showing layers of limestone with gaps between them. The rolling hills above meet a blue sky with a few fluffy clouds.

Wow, what a backdrop!

A pair of gray mudstone pinnacles rise into the clear blue sky, one showing a sparse remaining cap of reddish ironstone. To their right and below, a pair of red-capped hoodoos stand guard, the nearer of which looks like a platform. In the far left distance an escarpment reaches to the horizon.

I feel for ya. Two of my fave lenses both lost their autofocus chops on me recently. Anyway, nice shot here!

The large irregular is (I believe) a Hemiaster sp., collected from a gravel pit in Fort Worth. The regular piece, probably Phymosoma sp., picked up from a residential development in the Killeen, TX area.
