Dong Yuyu remains unjustly incarcerated after the Beijing High Court rejected his appeal. Dong is a journalist who has been given a 7-year sentence on a politically motivated charge. PRC authorities should release him and respect the internationally recognized right of freedom of the press.

I'm still doing what I can to get my PRESS Act across the finish line before the end of the year to protect journalists from potential attempts by any administration to target a free and fair press shedding light on abuses and corruption.
I'm not taking my foot off the gas. I'll keep trying to get this bill across the finish line to write much-needed protections for journalists and their sources into black letter law.
