Today's reading event was... weird. It ended up being all the kids in the school sitting in the hallway and just reading to themselves. Not sure why we were invited? I still ended up reading to a small handful of kids, a far cry from other events being passed from class to class, but so it goes.

The problem was the CPU?! Wow that's bad luck right there. Usually the CPU is the strongest part. That sucks, hope you get back up and running soon. Also, $600 feels pricey. Which CPU was it?

In trying to drive to my kid's school I was stopped by funeral processions 3 times. I'm pretty sure it was the same one, and by the time the end of the procession finally passed me I was encountering the head a few blocks later. Hard not to take this as some kind of sign, though.

So it turns out what broke was the CPU...which is expensive so....not to sound like begging but if people are feeling generous then I would be grateful for any support they can offer on the Ko-fi because 600 smackers is a lot of money.

I've come to understand that if they are actively taking money, and you can play it, that is a launched game. They can use whatever marketing and call it whatever they want, beta, early access, etc. but it's still launched.

I liked it. I wasn't one of those rabid fans, but I appreciated that late 90s sci-fi style. Probably didn't deserve early cancellation, either, but those things happen. Doesn't mean it needs a reboot. It can be left the way it is.

At one point during Gamergate I criticized the bigoted "movement" and the responses snowballed into Adam Baldwin himself sending me links about how women shouldn't be allowed to go to college, and then I fended off hacking and death threats for a few days after. So no, I'm not excited.

Sounds like the Prisoner's Dilemma, but they're just encouraging everyone to not cooperate.

That's okay, though. We all have times when we pull back and times we're more engaged. Posting to social media shouldn't be stressful or guilt-inducing. You share and give of yourself only when you want to, and that's okay.

My reasons are that I hate raiding, and I realized all the story climaxes were all in raids. So I'd never see it. And after realizing I had spent about $700 on the game by that point, I felt jilted. So I left. There are plenty of other games out there. It's okay to stop for a while.
