In 2002 Sea Change was the most disappointed i’d ever been by a new album release. It grew on me a bit but I still think it’s one of his weakest albums.
Mellow Gold is his best album, and Sea Change is his most overrated. So it’s about right to me.
I got Mellow Gold after Odelay too, but i’ve always preferred it. It sounds like it needs a good wash (in the best possible way).
At the airport I just saw a man (who was clearly Northern Irish) dressed head to toe in KISS merch. Tee shirt, hoodie, cap AND backpack. What could the music of KISS possibly say to someone from Northern Ireland?

You said it doesn’t have any downsides, the fact that barely any software supports it is a massive downside. I’m constantly converting webp into jpg so I can actually use the images. It’s a huge pain in the arse. It’s an irrelevance how good the format is if you can’t use it.
