He groaned above the rushing air, reaching for the datapad at his belt, “Eesh, even the VIP rooms on this hulk feel like tombs.” Roren rolled his eyes at the bunny upon the hip-high walkway set into the walls as he struggled to maintain his grip upon the titanic, trapezoidal container that dwarfed his plump torso and filled his stout arms. Its metallic casing was cratered, scored, and blast marked so badly that the “Peppin General Dynamics” logo splashed in orange as rich as the fur between his stripes had long since faded to nigh-illegibility, the corroded grey beneath leaving a steady stream of crumbling rust wherever it was heaved. Its formerly-sophisticated sealant system lay hopelessly breached, and the entire hatch was now bound by an old-style brass latch and re-purposed as a grubby traveler’s trunk by an owner that, to his eyes, matched his battered luggage perfectly. “Unf…that’s cause the last people to use them are probably dead by now.” He grunted around the container as he tried to sidle into the gargantuan room, shifting so both arms heaved up from beneath, his back to his Lepi partner currently flicking on the lights and running a room-wide systems check. The container’s contents bounced and tumbled within, rustling and clanking about as they shifted his weight with every lean. He stumbled, backside whumping into the wall. Something tickled at his left rumpcheek, and he winced as a muffled cry sounded near his hips. “Fuck.”
