Had a wonderful time chatting with Aaron Dhanda over on the Learn Squared podcast! We talked creatures, James Cameron, anxiety, and imposter syndrome, among many things!
This is probably the most candid and real Iβve ever gotten on a podcast, so please take a listen when you have a chance! 1/2

Totally respect your opinion! The bill in discussion: AB-412, makes no claim in either direction r/e the fair use discussion, i.e. whether or not it should be legal to train on copyrighted works. It simply asks the datasets be more transparent about IF and WHAT copyrighted works were trained on!
Shared! I'll be there!

I think most are now aware of this, but itβs very difficult to prove with any specificity unless the ai companies are forced by regulation / law to disclose whatβs exactly in their datasets - something this bill hopes to achieve.

@digelsrud.bsky.social can you field?
@emilymbender.bsky.social are you aware of this hearing on a California AI transparency bill? We would love to have you there in person, if at all possible (or at the very least helping spread the word).
@kortizart.bsky.social @bcmerchant.bsky.social @rahll.bsky.social @stung.art @alexhanna.bsky.social @alexries.com @jonlamart.bsky.social mind sharing?
Open AI doesn't want to be transparent about what's in their datasets - this bill would force them. If you're pro AI regulation (esp if you're in Bay Area), please show up and offer your support for this bill! If you can't make it, help spread the word!

Very strange - you're the only one that has said as much in response to this post. Try a different browser? @digelsrud.bsky.social have any insight to offer?
You can sign - California signatures are the most important, but all signatures are helpful.
It would also be really helpful for you to share, especially if you have friends/followers in California.
When you use the URL? Try this one actionnetwork.org/petitions/le...
To answer some questions I got last time I shared this:
- Yes you can sign if you don't live in Cali, but Cali signatures are most important!
- Sharing really helps even if you don't live in Cali. Get your Cali family/friends to sign!
- Action Network is trusted, reputable, won't share your data.
Reminder: they're STILL taking all of our work + we STILL need (especially Cali) signatures on the petition supporting Bill AB412 - the AI Copyright Transparency Act.
TLDR= this'll require transparency about what's in AI datasets!
Signing takes 1 min. Once done, PLEASE SHARE!! tinyurl.com/4uxbp963
Thanks for the shoutout, and glad you enjoyed the book!
In addition to the names you mentioned, the cover of the book and at least one of the images you showed are by co-production designer Dylan Cole (Ben Procter being the other PD).

I don't think Dylan is on bluesky, but please go follow him over on IG (@dylancoleart) if you don't already!

The book is a showcase for the work of Dylan Cole, who is one of the most respected and influential production designers and concept artists in modern cinema. The cover itself features a stunning piece of his artwork from the Avatar franchise, depicting a Na'vi warrior soaring over the oceans of Pandora.
