It’s said that humans need a common enemy to come together. It looks like Chicago finally got one😂

Haha, it’s even more challenging with Urban Arrow when turning in the tunnels.
Thank you @chuyiwen.bsky.social for taking the excellent night photo of people hanging out at Giddings Plaza
Worries about vaccination rates in dogs As rabies seems to be spreading more in wildlife, veterinarians are especially worried about vaccine hesitancy spreading among pet owners, a dangerous trend that could lead to more dogs — and their owners — becoming infected. A 2023 study published in the journal Vaccine found in a nationally representative sample of Americans that nearly 40% believed canine vaccines were unsafe and 37% believed that vaccines could lead their dogs to develop cognitive issues, such as autism.
Dogs are getting vaccinated less and rabies rates are rising, in part because 37% of Americans think vaccines will give their dogs... pawtism.

I will give $500 to the campaign of someone who runs against Scott Waguespack.
He is terrible on housing and mobility.
My 8th-grade son was hit by a car that blew by a stop sign at Claremont and Roscoe around 7:40 this morning when he was walking to Lane. He says he is ok thankfully, but the driver was going fast enough that the side mirror fell off when it hit my son in the hand. Does anyone that lives at that intersection have any video? Car inexplicably did not stop. Old white car (he thinks a Honda but happened fast). Thanks, neighbors. Care • Comment @ Send
Roscoe Village/Hamlin Park Neighborhood News I live at this intersection (Roscoe and Claremont). Unfortunately, we don't have cameras and weren't home at the time. I did call the alderman's office a couple of years ago and emphasized there was a serious issue at this intersection and someone is going to get killed. The response I got from the person in the office was that all the stop signs on Roscoe were put up (as an IDOT plan I think they said to deter speeding and prevent it from being a main cut through street (which it has become regardless, unfortunately). They actually said they expect people not to entirely stop and this wasn't the purpose of putting them all up. To enforce would slow down traffic. A couple of weeks ago someone got hit badly on a bike and taken by ambulance at the same intersection. I will call again, and if many others do as well, it could make a difference. It's also steps away from where the kids are parking and walking to school. Sorry this happened to your son, Andy! •• •

A kid in my neighborhood got hit by a driver yesterday while he was walking to school.
A neighbor has raised concerns about the intersection to my alderman before, and they told her they expect drivers to roll through stop signs 🙃

He told Zach that his kid was hit by a cyclist, what does Zach have to say to him. Zach asked if his kid is still alive. He said yes. Zach said many kids have been hit and killed by motorists. What does Waguespack have to say to their parents. Waguespack got quiet and took that aggressive tone back.
I asked Waguespack if he bikes. He said he does, he bikes from his place to downtown, use the Milwaukee bike lane. Later Zach joined the conversation, Waguespack talked about how dangerous cyclists are.
I’d love to chat if you need more e bike moms!

Trains and protests, beautiful combo.
We will! Just checked that their next meeting will be in August. My mom gets here in two days. With her help with the kids, we will have more time to get involved locally and politically.
We need to join and become members
Chicago ➡️ Ann Arbor
A new born and her mama bonding in the aisle, five retirees on a girls trip, fern plants on the luggage shelf, so many beautiful moments happening on this train trip 🚞❤️
This is just not acceptable💔
I agree with that so much!
So true. What’s sad is this bill would have significantly increased funding for downstate transit.
Every dollar invested in the CTA directly causes $13 of economic activity, if the CTA is forced to cut 40% of its budget because Uber killed the transit funding bill it will shrink the Illinois economy by over 9 billion dollars.
The IL legislature failed public transit last night. Chicago desperately needs a bike grid to fill the gap, with or without a fully functional CTA. Tell your alderman we need better bike infrastructure! actionnetwork.org/letters/i-st...
