πΊ In 2021 a metal detectorist made the find of a lifetime in Melsonby, Yorkshire (#UK). Luckily, he contacted experts at the University of Durham who, in collaboration with the British Museum and Historic England, excavated what is now known as The Melsonby Hoard. 1/

The Melsonby Hoard is one of the most significant Iron Age finds ever uncovered in the UK. The hoard contains over 800 objects from the Iron Age. Early analysis suggests the items were buried in the first century AD, around the time of the Roman conquest.
