Hey France. The sand on Juno Beach is still Canadian red. Time to repay the sacrifice. We don't want the blood of your sons and daughters, but we need some missiles.

Who else are they going to cut? Does a Jim Leonard defense need pass rushers?

There is no scenario where one nuclear detonation does not lead to the death of every human.

Business paid tariffs. Business passed cost on by raising prices. Tariffs used as an excuse to raise prices on non tariffed goods. Tariffs end, prices stay the same. Businesses are refunded, prices stay the same. Profits increase. The conservatives in Canada ran a similar scam with carbon tax.

Yeah, I'm sure the people he was meeting with would have totally understood when he apologized for not being fully prepared because he had to answer the questions the hill times had.

They didn't really care about any of it except for the cruelty directed at minorities. The rest was so that they could pretend they weren't monsters to justify their vote for cruelty.

Independent, member of the party until kicked out, really doesn't matter. If they state they will always vote with the other party, the colour under their name has no impact.

Is he talking about the Canadian oil the Americans buy cheap and then mark up?

I'm sure Krasnov is aware that Japan surrendered unconditionally without ground troops invading. So is Netanyahu.

Maybe it wouldn't meet the standard to have article 5 invoked, but I still believe it would do irreparable damage to NATO for Canada to refuse the request. We need NATO.

I do not believe that it is possible for Iran to hit a carrier, even if they get such a missile.

Run away when you can't defend a position and your prejudice about age does not work any more. Intellectual submission.

Look at a map. Seriously, have a look at a map. Then, answer the question.

Didn't answer the question

06.03.2026 00:58 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Answer the question. Is any country traversing the strait of Hormuz right now participating in an illegal war?

06.03.2026 00:56 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Do you believe that any nation traversing the strait or Hormuz right now is participating in an illegal war?

06.03.2026 00:54 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Please explain to me what non participant means to you. I don't think we have the same understanding

06.03.2026 00:50 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The question was about a non participant NATO ally. I am certainly old enough to pay attention.

06.03.2026 00:47 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

You keep repeating that statement and avoiding the question.

06.03.2026 00:44 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

You didn't answer the question. That's your choice. Unfortunately for our government, ignoring it is not an option.

06.03.2026 00:41 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So you believe we should not help to protect allies, should they be attacked? What would happen to NATO if Canada did that?

06.03.2026 00:34 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I'm not saying we should. Should we defend NATO allies who have not been involved if they are attacked?

05.03.2026 23:24 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar,UAE, all have territorial waters within range and many nato countries have relationships with them.

05.03.2026 23:15 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Let's say Italy has a Navy ship sunk by Iran. They have not participated in hostilities. They ask for help from NATO because of that. Do we say no? This is such a mess. I don't know what the right answer is.

05.03.2026 23:04 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

The UK is sending more jets to Qatar.

05.03.2026 20:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

In the scenario above, where a NATO ally, who has not been a participant in the hostilities, is attacked what happens to our alliance of we just say no?

05.03.2026 17:03 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I agree with that. Unfortunately, we are here regardless of who is to blame. We have to deal with that reality. I'm not sure there is a correct path from a Canadian perspective. At least I don't see an obvious one.

05.03.2026 16:35 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. I don't know if Italy even has anything within range of Iran drones or missiles. The point is, the whole thing is a mess and nobody can anticipate what may or may not happen next. Should we join US as it currently stands? Absolutely not.

05.03.2026 16:09 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Scenario: an Italian navy vessel in the area is targeted and destroyed by Iran. Italy has not participated in the attacks. Italy then asks for help from NATO. Do we help?

05.03.2026 15:32 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Do you know how article 5 works? Does one country just say it and we are in, or is there some sort of mechanism to evaluate the declaration?
