TMSMultiLab kindly requests that you show TMS coils TO SCALE on your methods brain Figures. This looks like the tiniest #TMS coil ever invented. In reality, the coil would cover ~2/3 of the brain. Make coils GREAT again!
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Are you an internationally trained psychologist entering the UK workforce?
In her #BPSCareersFest talk, Dr Sai Joshi will share practical lessons including HCPC registration, finding your speciality, navigating systems, and much more.

Hello Blue Sky! First time posting here โบ๏ธ๐ก
Second Blog Post! An introduction to visualising test scores in neuropsychology - because we all like pretty plots right...?
@donbps.bsky.social
Hi Chris, many thanks for sharing. It is very helpful in the clinical practice.
It is very important for science. Many thanks for working on this.

Many thanks to all the researchers who have told us about how they use #TMS - the results are looking really useful and very interesting!
We'll keep the survey open until 31st October, so if you can please spare 5 minutes:
Complete the #TMS User Survey!

To find out about how #TMS #BrainStim users collect, analyse & share their data, we've made a very brief TMS survey:
forms.gle/83Abpj5F8qzd...
It should take you less than 5 minutes & does not ask for any personal information.
We'll use the answers to plan our future work.
Please share!

This Friday's Monthly Meeting is given by Solya Szekely @solyas.bsky.social who will tell us about the TMS-RAT ๐ Project.
In this project, 18 members of TMSMultiLab created, developed & tested a tool for #SystematicReview #MeyaAnalysis & reporting in #TMS research
Join us!

Good job, Solya!
I need a #mathematician to help with a project. Ideally UK-based.
I've emailed a few folks in my uni, but none replied...
Anyone interested?
My need is nonlinear modelling of brain and muscle signals, optimisation, decomposition.
Anyone?
Over the last few months, members of TMSMultiLab have read, analysed & assessed #TMS research papers to produce a new tool:
17 people
333 papers
80 criteria
2 raters per paper
The dataset contains 53,280 ratings!
It's an immense piece of work, the first empirical contribution of TMSMultiLab...

image describing the trials in the experiment. at the start of each trial, a random 1-3 foreperiod contains a fixation cross to warn the participant. The first event in the trial is a 200ms period with two coloured squares left and right of the (now disappeared) central fixation point (both are red, blue, yellow or green). These are the distractor 'Flanker' stimuli. A third coloured square is then presented centrally. This is the target stimulus. If the target is red or blue, the participant must grip a left force meter; if green or yellow, they grip the right force meter. They try to respond as quickly and as correctly as possible. In the ~300ms before their response, two pulses of TMS are delivered, one over each motor cortex. This TMS pulse excites the corticospinal tract and results in a muscle contraction. The size of the muscle contraction is used as a proxy for corticospinal excitability and response preparation.
I'm happy to report that @valedichiaro.bsky.social 's 2nd PhD paper is in press! :-). Brief explainer...
- 2-coil #TMS over left & right primary motor cortex
- TMS in the ~300ms before one hand responds
- corticospinal excitability increases before response
- no changes in non-responding hand

The TMS-RAT v1.0 is now being tested!
It's a checklist / guidance tool to help researchers report #TMS studies & to facilitate quantitative comparisons in #systematicreviews & #meta-analyses
All the data will be made freely available; an interactive website will be coming. Stay tuned!
