Heute empfingen wir Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Jungen Mitte auf der Schweizer Mission bei der 🇪🇺 in Brüssel.

Im Zentrum des Besuchs standen die Beziehungen Schweiz-EU - von der Mitwirkung der Kantone bis zum geopolitischen Kontext.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the participants of the SwissCore Research & Innovation Seminar to the Mission. During the seminar, representatives from Swiss universities, research institutes, funders and @sbfi.admin.ch engage in exchanges with EU institutions and Brussels-based R&I stakeholders.

On International Day of Education 📚, we would like to highlight a key element of education: teachers.

Strengthening the teaching profession is among the topics addressed at the upcoming Informal Meeting of EU Education Ministers, in which Switzerland will be taking part. 🤝

Swiss Defence Industry Day in Brussels
The event featured a showroom with more than 50 representatives from the Swiss Defence Industry, a keynote speech by Federal Councillor Martin Pfister and a high-level panel discussion on European defence readiness and partnerships.

A few weeks have passed since the 13th Soirée Suisse in Brussels – yet the memories of this special evening together with the guest canton of Bern 🐻 remain.

Last week together with the Swiss Federal Statistical Office @statdatach.bsky.social, we had the pleasure to welcome chief statisticians and data stewards from all over Europe for interesting insights and lively discussions on the topic of “Enhancing AI-Readiness of Official Data and Statistics”.

EU programmes: Good news for the education, research & innovation community in Switzerland & beyond – Switzerland is associated to Horizon Europe, Euratom programme & Digital Europe Programme. The today signed agreement also enables participation in ITER & paves the way for association to Erasmus+.

Students from 🇱🇻 and 🇩🇪 joined students from Switzerland @fhnw.ch to visit the Swiss Mission to the EU in Brussels.

They gained insights into the Mission’s work and #SwissEUrelations, including the 🇨🇭 🇪🇺 Electricity Agreement and future areas of cooperation.

This week, Switzerland participated in the informal meeting of culture and media ministers in Copenhagen.
On this occasion, the Directors of the Federal Offices of Culture and Communications signed the Declaration on the necessity of culture and media as a safeguard for European democracies.

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming 28 Justice and Home Affairs Counsellors from EU and EFTA member states to an Attachés trip on Asylum Policy in Switzerland.

Last night we hosted the 13th Soirée Suisse here in Brussels together with this year’s host canton Bern.

Since yesterday, 12 October 2025, the Schengen states including Switzerland started the gradual introduction of the new Entry/Exit System (#EES). The system will digitally register entries and exits of third-country nationals across the #Schengen area.
