Very sad to learn of the death of Neil Sedaka. I saw him perform live more than any other performer. Along with ABBA he provided the theme track to my childhood.

It was a pleasure to attend @rcpath.bsky.social New Fellowsβ ceremony this evening and an honour to read the citation for the honorary fellowship for Dr Alan Fletcher OBE, the former National Medical Examiner. Itβs always a heart-warming event, celebrating the success of the new fellows.
Loved the women in surgery portrait exhibition @hunterianmuseum.bsky.social @collegeofsurgeons.bsky.social. Great to meet all the surgeons at the private view last week. Do pop in if youβre in London, and visit the Hunterian Museum while youβre there. hunterianmuseum.org/exhibitions/...

Had a great morning @collegeofsurgeons.bsky.social learning about the role of volunteers. Had an induction session then a volunteer took me on a building tour and showed me his object of the day in @hunterianmuseum.bsky.social. Finished with object handling. Learnt so much, canβt wait to go back!

Great news that Dr Huw Twamley has been appointed as Interim National Medical Examiner for England and Wales - I look forward to working with him: www.england.nhs.uk/patient-safe...
7.5 litres of Farrow & Ball paint! Heβs just moved house and all the walls are currently grey. Huge relief when he asked for paint as I wouldnβt have had a clue what to get him.
You canβt go wrong with a Pete mug/print/card!

Two videos showing how fabulous the #VeniceNoir festival was. Iβm still buzzing from the experience, it was such fun!
I love these videos. They really reflect the atmosphere of the festival. It was such a joy to be there - I canβt wait for #VeniceNoir 2026!
Iβm just finishing @davidhewson.comβs excellent #TheFourDeadlySeasons. Next on my reading list is Nick Blackβs #BareKnuckleSurgeon, the story of Thomas Wakley, who founded The Lancet. It includes βincompetent surgeons, corrupt royal colleges, nepotism and quackeryβ - I canβt wait to read it!
