Advocacy Best Practices

I wanted to highlight this incredible science advocacy resource on the @sfn.org website. There's info on how to contact your legislatures, prep for meetings, and make your voice heard. Thank you to SfN for not backing down from the fight and supporting scientists! 🧠πŸ§ͺ www.sfn.org/advocacy/adv...

Revealed: NIH research grants still frozen despite lawsuits challenging Trump order The Trump administration is exploiting a loophole to keep a funding freeze in place, leaving researchers in limbo.

Almost all grant-review meetings under Trump 2.0 remain suspended at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), preventing the world’s largest public funder of biomedical research from spending much of its US$47 billion annual budget.

NOT-OD-25-068: Supplemental Guidance to the 2024 NIH Grants Policy Statement: Indirect Cost Rates NIH Funding Opportunities and Notices in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts: Supplemental Guidance to the 2024 NIH Grants Policy Statement: Indirect Cost Rates NOT-OD-25-068. OD

1. Today the NIH director issued a new directive slashing overhead rates to 15%.

I want to provide some context on what that means and why it matters.

Fkbp5 gene deletion: Circadian rhythm profile and brain proteomics in aged mice This study investigates the circadian rhythm and proteomic profile of aged FKBP51 knockout mice. The absence of FKBP51 provided protection against stress-mediated disruptions in circadian rhythms in ...

Check out our recent paper, out in this month's issue of #AgingCell. Through deep proteomic analysis, we uncovered previously unknown connections between FKBP51 and Mycbp2, Spryd3, and Fbxo45, which may contribute to the #resilience in FKBP51 knockout mice. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
