we cut the gay stuff because parents felt bad having to out themselves as blatant homophobic bigots to children who have otherwise been taught to love everyone and treat others as you'd have them treat you

You're spending so much of your time vampire surviving, but can you take a minute to ask yourself "Am I Vampire Thriving?"

I don't think American Jewish institutions like the ADL and the AJC have fully reckoned with how their behavior during the Zohran Mamdani mayoral election is going to prove to be the kind of generational mistake that will place American Jews in greater danger for years to come.

This has nothing to do with the specific content here, but Polymarket adopting the language of news, here with BREAKING, and with Texas election results earlier this week, is BAD. Polymarket is not and will never be a news org or break news. It's a betting app. It's Draft Kings for sociopaths.

One Year On: 13 people on the ruling that changed their lives On 16 April 2025, the UK’s Supreme Court ruled that the legal definition of a woman is based on their biological sex assigned at birth. Forget the rage-bait headlines and attempts to divide us through...

my first piece (cowritten with Catriona Innes) in a print magazine comes out today: we interviewed 13 people, mostly trans women, about how the Supreme Court ruling has affected them for Cosmo UK

GLAAD MEDIA AWARD WINNER:
OUTSTANDING COMIC BOOK

Avengers Academy: Marvel’s Voices

By Anthony Oliveira, Elsa Sjunneson, Carola Borelli, Bailie Rosenlund, Pablo Collar, Charles Stewart III, Alti Firmansyah, Minkyu Jung, KJ Díaz, Ruth Redmond, Dono Sánchez-Almara, Ariana Maher, Joe Caramagna (Marvel Infinity Comics)

GLAAD MEDIA AWARD WINNER: OUTSTANDING COMIC BOOK Avengers Academy: Marvel’s Voices By Anthony Oliveira, Elsa Sjunneson, Carola Borelli, Bailie Rosenlund, Pablo Collar, Charles Stewart III, Alti Firmansyah, Minkyu Jung, KJ Díaz, Ruth Redmond, Dono Sánchez-Almara, Ariana Maher, Joe Caramagna (Marvel Infinity Comics)

I am so thankful for the gift of this recognition on behalf of myself and all of the crew on Avengers Academy. We strove week after week to make art worthy of our community – to deepen and enrich the world for queer, trans, and HIV+ representation and readership, to insist we belonged in these worlds of fiction and in the world that dreams them. We wanted both to illuminate queer stories told long ago and to trailblaze new paths forward. It was not always easy, but it was always worth it.

I am so proud of this work, and so honoured to have it so celebrated. Thank you.

Thank you to all the impossibly gifted collaborators on this project for all your brilliance, enthusiasm, and generosity: our regular artists Carola Borelli, Bailie Rosenlund, and Pablo Collar; our colorists KJ Diaz and Ruth Redmond; our letterists Ariana Maher and Joe Caramagna; as well as our numerous guest talents – who enriched this book week after week with their gifts and perspectives. Thanks too to our editors, Lindsey Cohick, Sidney Stubbs, Wil Moss, and founding editor and Sarah Brunstad who willed this book into life. Time and again this book redefined what could happen, how it could look and read, and above all who could be in a superhero comic, and I could not be prouder.

And, with great admiration and profoundest appreciation, thank you to my community, for always lifting me up. Finding all of you has been the great gift of my life. This category is full of the fellow artists who showed me there was a place for us to create and to live in this world, and I live in the enduring blessing of their work.

I said it when we ended, and I will say it here again: comics will mend your heart, if you let them. When I was a scared, lonely, closeted kid, the Marvel universe’s heroes were there for me when very little else was. That is a debt I can never pay back, but one I’ve tried with great travail to pay forward. I want to believe we have afforded a little of that same refuge to those who soug…

A lot of people think “surely nobody wants to fuck someone they think is subhuman,” and these people need to be taught about the concept of heterosexual men.

Trans Porn Is Booming. Trans Rights Are Fading We asked trans adult creators about the complicated link between desire and politics, as trans porn is booming while rights fade.

Interesting interview in Playboy with transgender adult content creators. People often point to Pornhub stats showing trans content is more popular than ever as a contradiction, as if political and sexual objectification were ever mutually exclusive

“On Speaking Ice” by Benjamin Balthaser in my city, two fallen en route to a market, eight more at an intersection of a hospital, ice in their cheeks, hair, lips as if they said goodbye (poetry)

Happy to have a poem in Another Chicago Magazine. I wrote this several weeks ago at the height of the Minneapolis uprising, during a bitter cold snap, when DHS instructed state agencies to not use the word “ice” to describe weather events anotherchicagomagazine.net/2026/03/05/o...

I know Richardson was an absolute force in the industry, changing the landscape of comics forever, giving lots of opportunities to amazing indie work.

He also stifled a lot of great projects and creators, enabled workplace abuse, and perpetuated ineptitude all through his company.

Mark Carney’s Iran reaction raises doubts about what he stands for In this dangerous world, Canada needs to see clearly what we are dealing with. But we also need to remember who we are.

Mark Carney's reaction to the US attack on Iran, and his subsequent defences of that attack, made you wonder: for all his talk of pragmatism and principles, what does he stand for? And what does he think Canada wants him to stand for? www.thestar.com/politics/fed...
