The Public Safety Committee is taking comments on Res. 258 today at 2:00pm that deals with this nonsense. You can go to City Hall or join the zoom to testify! Or even email in written testimony. Show up and tell them to support our whole city, not just cops. www.stlouis-mo.gov/events/event...

ICE is trafficking people who aren’t from there to a tiny landlocked absolute monarchy on the borders of South Africa and Mozambique.

We were told that we were on our own about asbestos removal in Recorder of Deeds space when I was there.

When the roof leaked down into a records room, also our problem. As landlords go, City is a slumlord.

Exactly. There are so many examples visible to anyone looking of city infrastructure that need our money and attention. Sell the buildings if they're so bad - use that money for repairs for the ones you need.

Do you make $300,000 or more in a year? I know I don’t. Nowhere near it.

The Missouri tax swap is estimated to only benefit those who do.

Here's a doc from the Capital Improvements Committee at STL City - EVERYWHERE has capital needs. They don't need to hire another damn contractor - the City has already assessed the PD bldgs that the State of MO neglected when they previously controlled the SLMPD.

Public Safety Committee 03/12/2026, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The BOA Public Safety Committee is hearing Resolution 258 at 2:00pm tomorrow (link here for details: www.stlouis-mo.gov/events/event...) and the resolution also demands that #moleg stop putting more bills for police actions onto STL City taxpayers when the state is supposed to control police action.

The Police State Budget will bankrupt the City, as intended.

Less important than water, but more important than moldy basements - The Mayor said the city budget office was without an employee for awhile because the ceiling in City Hall literally fell in on him while he sat at his desk, injuring him. WTF STL.

Also meanwhile, the City water system needs major capital for replacement and repairs. We can live with fewer cops but not without water.

Until they have to cut back on everything because the cops are devastating our budget...
But also - yay - I hope we find them soon! ;)

We have seen drops in crime of all kinds bc of real investment in the Office of Violence Prevention. Guess which funds are going away and can't be replaced if the cops take far more than their state-mandated share?! This is a police state budget. Not a care for the humans of STL budget. #stl

Any alderperson or city elected official of any kind who isn't RAISING HELL about this budget demand is going to hear about it forever from their constituents. City workers are PISSED and if y'all have to lay off more of them for these bullies - the more city services falter, the madder we get.

Ok and listen, the BOA and even E&A have limited authority, but that doesn't mean we don't raise hell and fight back. I've done some teach-ins this week about the state takeover and this budget, and doing another tomorrow night for CAPCR at Deaconess at 6.

Y'all, this STATE CONTROLLED SLMPD budget demand is absolutely insane. Of course we knew it would be, but how. dare. they. think that taking money from other city services actually benefits our city? This is a police state budget, not a human, resident-benefitting budget. #STL #fundpeoplenotcops

I hate this time switch, and only getting 23 hours of International Women's Day. But what I hate more are my neighbors' dogs barking outside my bedroom window from 3:30am-5am on the Monday after the switch. *Blurry eyed rage* is my vibe today.

It is absolutely insane that the US appears to have targeted desalination plants first – putting them onto the board. Iran seems to have already retaliated against one in Bahrain. This is one of the most obvious ways this could spiral.

β€œThere is going to be a huge void when these funds sunset those programs,” said STL's newly-appointed Office of Violence Prevention director Marvin Teer Jr.

Teer said that 43 programs will end without fed funds.

"Our mission will go on, but in a very limited, or at least in a reduced, manner.”
