Remembering when I was small and getting ice cream with my mother and her friend. Her friend challenged me to tie a knot with the cherry stem just using my tongue. At the time I didn’t know why my mom hit her friend when she asked me that, but when I actually did it, they both absolutely lost it.

Having to be on video calls so much for this new job changes that under-desk-assistant position I was looking to fill, but only in the sense that the job requirements now include being A) small and B) quiet.

There’s no animosity from me, just disappointment. Seeing people say they don’t mind the puppy-kicking as long as “number stay up” is just really hard to see.

(This does not apply, of course, to people whose livelihoods depend on said number and are *unable* to move).

It’s like if your community was suddenly overthrown by a hostile puppy-kicking party and they tell you you’re still allowed to live there peacefully as long as you don’t mind all the puppies being kicked.

For some of them it's not even 0. Like, they'll have 0 posts here (or 1 that was posted in 2023) but they'll have 2k followers already that are all *actual* people chomping at the bit for interaction.

It’s sad seeing artists and friends who still post exclusively to the bird app.

Went to the dentist today to get a filling fixed. Before they stuck me with needles, I asked, “do I really need anesthetic?”

Dude shrugged. “Let’s find out!”

The whole procedure was totally painless. :D
