If the league isn’t being financially transparent, I don’t understand why the focus is on the players? It’s a terrible story for the players to have at this stage.

This is why I feel like we can never really understand what it felt like to live in a previous time. There are so many of those storylines that don’t get preserved in the collective memory.

When the media started hyping CC’s competitive nature and accomplishments, I wondered what was going on, but I still didn’t watch.
Since I teach AP Gov, I had been aware of how much more politically active WNBA players are. I followed the news when the Atlanta Dream supported Raphael Warnock’s campaign and I followed the lobbying to bring BG home. But I never watched a game.
I remember watching some of the first WNBA game in the 90s. I never watched any WBB again until two years ago. Angel Reese absolutely brought me to the WNBA as a regular viewer.
