This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
We all know there's no difference between what we're doing and what Alex Pretti and Renee Good were doing when they were killed. I promise you, we're all thinking about it. And I believe ICE wants us to be thinking about what they've done to observers. It's just not having the effect they hoped.
This is the scene I was at this morning. I know Minnesotans filming ICE in their bathrobes is becoming a bit of a thing, but after you laugh, let it dawn on you that people here hate ICE so much that we rush out half-dressed to film even when there are already dozens of others doing the same thing.
