“Gender Goals” a comic by Jey Pawlik, is done in mint greens and choppy black lineart. Narration: As a kid I watched The Last Unicorn a LOT. A young Jey with long hair is sitting in front of an old CRT TV watching The Last Unicorn. On the screen The Unicorn ponders “What do men know? Because they have seen no unicorns for a while does not mean that we have all vanished. We do not vanish. There has never been a time without unicorns.” The TV scenes are done in a cool blue colour with a static texture overlayed on top.
Jey’s mum pokes her head in with a “!!” and is excited about this development. She flutters around little Jey and says “OH! You’re watching the unicorn movie again? Something CUTE?! Something GIRLY?! Ohhh~ I’m so happy!” much to little Jey’s annoyance. The background behind them has turned from Jey’s usual green to purple with a floral pattern.
Narration: But it wasn’t the unicorn I liked best. The movie now shows The Unicorn and Schmendrick the Magician walking together. The Unicorn says “You may come with me if you like. Though I wish you’d asked for some other reward for having freed me.” Schmendrick responds “Well, I thought about it. Young @jpawlik.com was drawn to The Last Unicorn for reasons they couldn't explain and that their mother and friends definitely misunderstood. In a time before they had the vocabulary to talk about their gender, at least Jey had Schmendrick.

I'll be going to BC in mid-april and I just bought my ticket now cuz IDK what prices are gonna be later and I was blessed to discover that the points I have pretty much covered it.
I'm glad she was able to get that, I hope everyone who is able to really make these guys learn a lesson just.. @_@ DO IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, for the rest of us who cant. This is hopefully going to set up a whole new wave of people fighting for labour protections..may it humble them for eons.

unfortunately we're also in an era where the amount of people in the career looking for a job is ...huge. I've seen people be turned down for asking what they had before, no lie.
with all that being said, we should all ask for what we're worth. But its very survival mode right now.

the only way out of this is holding people accountable, about unionizing , about reversing this cultural idea that companies have the same rights as people. Our anti-trust and pro-corpo laws are what allow them to do this. We have so much work to do.
this is what is going to happen with everyone who lost their full time job, because companies made massive mistakes they punish their workers and then continue to punish them.
I know ppl who worked for over a decade somewhere be let go, then hired back later as a fresh employee. 3 months probation

Don’t underestimate the value of listening to the track and acting it out multiple times, feeling it in your body even if u don’t film yourself. Think about how u would act if u were that character. So often people do stock or cliche poses. But even “twinning” can feel natural if u do it naturally.
i hateeee filming myself acting , but i love feeling it out. lipsyncing it like music basically. Paying attention to when I tense and tilt makes all the difference in choices.

GUESS WHAT? Go on, guess. It's Xena & Callisto again, you may remember them from other such posts of mine like, 'Xena x Callisto,' & the surprise sequel, 'More Xena x Callisto,' plus more. It's the one with Xena standing over Callisto telling her to stay down and Callisto is like, "Gladly <3" y'know, classic Callisto stuff. I added a little background of GREENERY, like the threat of a fern and a whisper of some grass, stuff like that. Plus some peachy pink sky. #myart
