He just turned it off!

I assume they said it was the price of buying the ads but most of it is skimming the tills.
I'm excited to see the new TAKEN type movie starring Milla Jovovich tomorrow (PROTECTOR). I guess it's still January!
Balint to Noem: "You're the secretary of DHS -- for now. And you think you're immune from accountability. But I promise you this: one day he is not gonna be president anymore. And when that day comes, we will still be here. And in hearings like this, we are going to continue to prove your guilt."
My upstairs neighbor has left the same gentle ambient (video game menu?) loop playing for 48+ hours.
Seattle people - this is still playing at the Pacific Place. It even went up from one showing a day to two.
Today I have a review of a pretty sleazy only-on-VHS A.I.P. movie called KICK OR DIE (1987). The titular kicking is provided by Kevin Bernhardt, who later co-starred in HELLRAISER III: HELL ON EARTH and wrote TURBULENCE 2: FEAR OF FLYING.
It comes out in April. Warning: it's a pricey limited edition. I think my essay is in the promotional photo here.
Yes! I recently found out my grown up nephew saw HARD BOILED for the first time, and he had me go through the menu with him and tell him which ones to prioritize. (Also getting to brag that I did liner notes for the Imprint release of HARD BOILED was a great moment in cool unclehood.)
It appears this is really the 108 minute Weinstein cut. I cling to my 130 minute international cut blu-ray, but I highly recommend the movie however you're able to see it.
Ah - 1 hour mistaken for 100 minutes. That explains it, thank you!
I don't subscribe to the Criterion Channel, but commenter hurtado tells me they currently have a 148 minute cut of THE GRANDMASTER, which would be 18 minutes longer than the international cut. Anybody know the deal with that?
You don't have to love all of these movies, but you do have to understand that a studio that makes Sinners and One Battle and Mickey 17 and Wuthering Heights and The Bride and Weapons grasps its responsibility to filmmaking and its own history and tradition in a way that David Ellison does not.
I am nothing if not predictably wonderful.
When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.
And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.
I have returned like Jack Deth to review TRANCERS II: THE RETURN OF JACK DETH (1991).
extra credit: trained at actual Shaolin Temple, did a great commentary track on the Dragon Dynasty 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN dvd, has also performed a live score for it
4. Played the villain in a Tony Jaa movie (TOM YUM GOONG 2)
5. Was in NOBODY
6. Was in NOBODY sequel directed by Tim Tjahjanto!
7. They made fun of it on the episode but playing Blind Master in G.I. JOE RETALIATION is fucking cool
1. Wrote, directed and starred in a full-on martial arts movie shot in China and choreographed by Corey Yuen!
1b. Helped establish Dave Bautista in action movies
2. Starred in Roel Reine directed DTV sequel to #1
3. Co-starred with Paul Walker in a B13 remake
This is a fun episode! Good discussion. But I would like to make my case for why, despite limited acting range, RZA deserves credit for action legitimacy...
Sorry to be on your case but when was the last time you listened to 'Things Fall Apart' with a good pair of bass-boosting headphones?
Nope
Thank you! I figured they had to be legends.
Oh really? She was great!
I'm glad I made time to see Yuen Woo-ping's BLADES OF THE GUARDIANS on the big screen. 80 years old and he's still got it. My review:
Also I still recommend this pair of movies.
I watched this again and it holds up to a second viewing. A cast full of actors who can make me root for extremely flawed people who make poor decisions.
Of course it's a horror movie, that's not a technicality. You can just admit that you loved a horror movie, that's not a shameful thing!
Unfortunately one of the funniest things he has ever said
