2026 Writing Day 64: During the rewrite of the first book, I adjusted Darren's attitude to something more positive deriving strength from his family bonds. In the second book, subtle tweaking removes his jealousy of his sister to showing her the same pride she showed him in the first book.
I'll be in my office.
Meanwhile, at Tagonist Knights Publishing...
March 5: Week 10: Day 1: Amulet of Water: Book 4 of the Primordial Quaternity Series: Chapter 2: Francis, a human/wolf hybrid greets the arrival of Milo and Carmilla who recently escaped the inside of bag that sucked them into it nearly a month ago. They're unaware of how much time has passed.
March 4: Week 9: Day 7: Deadly Haven: Book 6 of the Human Born Series: Chapter 2: Isabel is reporting to Adriana concerning documents left behind by the former leader of the city who was driven mad a discovery in hidden, underground tunnels. He wrote his suicide note in his own blood on human skin.
I started out writing first person because it was my way of inserting myself into other stories, me being the main character, escapism. I changed doing that in that I wanted the stories to be about other people, not me. I wanted to feel like I was there with them, not the person the story was about.
At the end of a novel, a five year old is kidnapped, her memories edited to the point she thinks the woman caring for her is her mother. Do I do a time jump in the series to have her older or do I keep the series of books going as they are occuring one after another? I am not sure what feels right.
My friend and I have a working theory that everything in nature in Australia is trying to kill you.
This is great advice. π
2026 Writing Day 63: I am excited to have reached Darren and Hannah's arrival in the second book. Having just reread the previous book, I have a good feeling about who they are, their personalities and presence. I cut another half a chapter making even more room to expand on their involvement.
This is incredible. π

This is beautiful. π²
There is how people think writers lives are versus reality. It is not easy being a writer and to reach the destination between starting out a story and getting published is an epic tale in of itself. π
Using a Star Trek GIF, post where you're at right now. π
Someone bought it for me as a gift. She won't let me open it until my birthday in May. πππ
When the Sunfire Chronicles is involved, anything is impossible. A protagonist and the central antagonist in the first book were fourth dimensional beings. At one point, Glen spent five rotations (years) trapped in the fourth dimension frozen in time until heβs rescued.
βAny attempts to record information concerning someoneβs identity is not only forbidden, but it is impossible to do so. Despite being set in a version of the Wild West based upon old movies and television shows, it is one of the most secure places for data exchange throughout the global network."
2026 Writing Day 62: Finishing up Chapter 3 of the second book. Love reading Zeta's flirtatious behavior around Khaalida and how she's able to bring out the softer side of this mysterious woman. "The Butcher" is eerily fascinating. Then there is Dolgoff who is scared of his own shadow. So much fun.
March 3: Week 9: Day 6: Moment of Truth. Yaretzi has risked losing her job in responding to a client of the Virtual Friend service she works as a programmer for. The system was down when a cry for help came through, threats of suicide. She intervened, saving him from ending his life that night.
It's devestating. However, she's also a computer programer who uses that loss towards creating something truly beautiful that ends up helping millions of people, savings countless lives from suicide. From tragedy, something incredible is created and I think that's all any of us can hope for in life.
The one that stands out the most is Yaretzi. A car accident that killed her brother, father, and mother leaves a scar across the side of her face leading to a physical reminder of her loss and deeply painful survivor's guilt. I used a real life survivor of a car accident for a visual reference.
No wonder I can't sleep! My writing keeps waking me up but by the time I do so, I end up forgetting everything that it was trying to tell me! Curses and drat, I say! π
What can I say, books have gotten me through some tough times. The enjoyable experience of writing and reading them. It makes life so much more enjoyable and pleasant. π
This is so true! I love what I write because I have read it so many times, changes and fixed it so I will like it even more to the point that I don't want to change anything more because I love it just the way it is. π
That's great. π Me too. I felt bad for the sad ending during the Sunfire Chronicles. Yet, it was my Empire Strikes Back. The heroes lose... Badly... But there are two more books to fix that and make the ending happy again. All part of a larger story arc. π
