Elon Musk has already started plans to launch a million satellites.
Yes. A MILLION.
This is a colossally bad idea, and it's not too late to make your voice heard. I explain everything:

Obama: "We are living in a time where it can be hard to hope. Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions. Another setback to the idea of the rule of law ... but this man - Rev. Jesse Jackson - inspires us to take a harder path ... bc if we don't step up, nobody else will"
Jennifer Hudson tearing it up at Jesse Jackson's celebration with "A Change in Gonna Come." She is a marvel.
Please stop whatever you are doing and read this entire thread.
Youβre welcome.

A most excellent thread of excellent books! #worldbookday
I wrote about the first national book banning bill, which effectively seeks to erase trans people. At the end I include a link to let your reps know that you oppose this bill and all it stands for. lithub.com/why-we-must-...
Cover of Dunnettβs The Game of Kings
Have to have Dorothy Dunnett here. She was so extraordinarily good. This begins her Lymond Chronicles. She was someone I knew, later, was so gracious to someone so much younger, before Iβd written anything. Plus her husband Alastair taught me to put a little water in my whisky. #worldbookday
This is a great book.
Really great great.
Richard Hell, still living his best life. "It's such a gamble when you get a face."

He looks so relaxed and happy. And that coat! Such a handsome lad.
What a sweetie! She loves you so much.
SDPL Clara Breed Civil Liberties Lecture Maggie Tokuda-Hall in conversation with Mike Sakasegawa of the Keep the Channel Open Podcast. Tuesday March 10th, central library 6-8pm Also a pic of my face from 10 years ago, I look great.
Who do I know in San Diego? I will be there next week at the SDPL and I am afraid that I do not have enough people there.
I will be talking about the Japanese American Incarceration, book bans, and what our current climate of censorship yields for us while simultaneous state sanctioned raids occur.
Please read and consider donating to this beautiful place, which needs and deserves your help.
Went for a walk earlier, and a big old butterfat moon was bobbing at the end of my street, like a dollop of lemon pudding or that uncle who gets up to dance after a few shots of bourbon.
Now it glares down from on high, tighter and whiter. A disapproving schoolmarm.
Before I walked outside, I had said, out loud, "Time to reconnect with nature." I meant it ironically, since it's my backyard, not a forest. But nature answered anyway.
Out in my backyard to wander amongst the clover, heard GROK GROK overhead. The local raven couple was circling against the baby blue sky and a swish of cloud.
Such a talented family. Very encouraging that your mother started later in life, given how glorious her prints are. Never too late.
Such a beauty!
Yay! She seems like a natural!
My phone logged me out of this app, and I have yet to log myself back in. Accessing Bsky now through desktop only.
I think stemming the stream of anger and information has contributed to my mental health. So I don't know if I'll be logging back in on my phone again.
Rising oil prices, however...
just became aware of this--the regime wants to clear-cut massive chunks of Oregon's old growth forests in the name of timber production.
you have until March 23rd to comment.
i know we have endless fucking things to scream at politicians about--this is an important one too.
The cover of the dungeon book, showing an old-school cutaway diagram of a dungeon, complete with a dragon.
Lo, 'tis THE DUNGEON BOOK cover!
The Jungle Book meets Dungeons and Dragons with a dash of Pan's Labyrinth in this gleefully fun standalone fantasy narrated by a sentient skull, in which a small girl is thrown to a dungeon full of monsters, who decide to raise her rather than eat her.
11th August!
Fuck Trump. Fuck the puppeteers behind him. Fuck the GOP, especially congressional Republicans and quisling Democrats, who enabled him. Fuck the people who voted for this, and fuck the media for never reporting on him realistically.
Fuck them all, for they have truly fucked us and the world.
Learned about this thanks to @charliejane.bsky.social's newsletter and am I am so in!
Even just watching the trailer is cathartic. MORE!
