I have seen this sometimes in years past for proposals in neuroscience or other biology fields; we could never get answers from NSF about why and didn’t make sense given their list of fields

I hope there is an ACLU class action lawsuit on behalf of the hundreds of US citizens and others with legal papers being unlawfully detained and incarcerated. If ICE operations become a financial liability to the government, it might exert pressure to stop this insanity.

This is a reasonable idea. We have university library staff who help researchers with all sorts of things related to refs and data, this might make some sense (and maybe they could get their student workers to help).
Not sure who needs to hear, but this is NOT how you support the arts in the United States.
Yeah, I realize this is a tough ask on editors. But it also should not fall to reviewers. So the dilemma is, who will fact check the AI? If it ends up being on reviewers, they need to pay us. :)
Sorry this happened to you; its quite alarming.
It should be on the editors that if they send a manuscript our for review, they have done a basic quality check that the refs exist. If not, editorial rejection, full stop.

This is my district. We elected Adelita by a huge margin. We want representation NOW.
This is a VERY well crafted lawsuit.
1) Plaintiff is natural born.
2) He was detained 2X in a fast-growing part of Alabama, not in a city that Brett Kavanaugh could be easily duped into believing was all migrants.
3) Unwarranted detentions were on private property.
4) He showed Real ID both times.
