I can't overstate how essential Sean and co.'s book on queer horror is, and if you are not following you him you are doing yourself a great disservice. A superb critic AND a total sweetheart, he brings the perfect combo of heart and smart to all he touches. Worship him!

It’s especially funny how the show places Mormon separatism as the ultimate ‘evil’ of the show instead of American colonialism, even presenting them as the ‘true’ villain to First Nations people, who in reality were almost entirely wiped out by American Capitalism
The conservative, American-Western myth underpinning ‘American Primeval’, is that ultimately all groups of people and institutions either fail, or are untrustworthy, and the only reliable system is capitalist individualism
