Listers was an absolute hilarious, well made doc. Oscar-worthy quality honestly

Caused by single occupant cars too.
When I would take the bus during rush hour going the opposite direction, I would count the number of people in the cars stuck in traffic. 80-90% 1 person per car. The amount of space 1 person can take up. People somehow can't understand that traffic is cars.

This should absolutely be a thing. For example, parking a motorcycle in downtown Halifax costs the same as any of those oversized pickups in the article photos. Make that make any sense.

Also see, Halifax. Prime waterfront land dominated by two ports and CN owned land, surrounding the Harbour and Bedford Basin. Benefits to real-live humans come second to profit.

Such a waste of time & money. Threaten to tear out things we've already build that the people are using & love for the very cynical hope of dividing a population against itself & riding that hate to political victory

"Please car people, hate the bike people. And vote for me!" Scoundrels #BikeLanes

Want to revive rural Atlantic Canada? Trains connect. Trains grow all local economies equally. Air travel centralizes, consolidates growth to single locations. Rural citizens should fight for the return of regular trains.

Total business as usual, then taking the opportunistic power move whenever he can.

Tackling the actual problems with actual solutions? Keep waiting

There's some kind of irony that during an extreme drought and threat of wildfires that they ban the activities that might save us from more climate disaster. But sure get out there in your car, carry on folks

08.08.2025 16:45 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Your fault, you should have been driving. They didn't ban that

DYK that parking a motorcycle in Halifax costs the same as any other size car/SUV/truck. Are we not paying for the space we take?

This is what causes traffic. Incentivize efficient geometries

Right. Guy was a do-nothing as MP for 9 years. And somehow Halifax decided this is the guy for us.

Cities have to regain their autonomy. They're the economic drivers of provinces. Yet are told what to do and how to live by suburban and rural politicians.

Every advanced pedestrian signal should also be an advanced bicycle signal.

When insane car people in Facebook comments go on about how cyclists should be licenced and insured I think of shit like this. Power = responsibility.

I don't know a lot about Mayor office staffing so maybe this is nothing out of the ordinary

Am I reading into this too much, or does the Mayor having a Council Relations role in his office means he won't be doing the council relations himself?

Actively campaigning to make people's lives worse and more expensive. Just why

The irony that these are the areas composed of councillors and citizens who talk personal/fiscal responsibility, small government, low taxes, and yet are completely dependent on the support of everyone else

At a time where we’re trying to increase regional tourism, why not a Tourist Train from Moncton to Halifax on summer weekends, leave Moncton in the early morning, stops in Sackville, Amherst, Truro, drops the tourists off on the waterfront around 11AM. Return trip in evening.
