Stephen King
(I guess my reading slowed down a lot after the age of 13)
When people talk about nuclear codes, is it actually like a code the POTUS has to know by memory? If so that gives me a tiny bit of comfort knowing he's unlikely to remember them.
I think it's the world building. The stars are the Na'vi culture and the environments/creatures of Pandora. My feeling is [shrugging emoji], but people genuinely seem to find it immersing and transporting.
*Hellebuyck (sorry I'm just starting to learn this sport)
Do you think Celebrini is Hellabuyck's twink?
Watching Olympic hockey after having watched Heated Rivalry, all I can think about is which players are fucking each other
The same confident ignorance as the grifters hawking it.
In this post-truth era, AI is like the cherry on top of the no-shared-reality sundae.
Lol that's probably true, except even a toddler has the ability to say "I don't know"
I'm not talking about the inconvenience or annoyance to me personally. As you said, turning it off doesn't fix the issue overall. But thank you posting that. It's useful to know!
AI Overview The full ZIP code for blurred out address Peekskill, NY 10566 is 10566-1564.
Different result when you enter different search terms ("full zip code" vs "9 digit zip code"). Still totally incorrect though!
AI Overview the 9-digit zip code for blurred out address in Peekskill, NY is 10566-6020.
USPS look up a zip code. Blurred out address, Peekskill, NY 10566-4444
This just happened today. I only bothered to check the actual USPS website because I was pretty sure the AI was wrong.
Misinisinformation and disinformation are already rampant, and the media literacy to distinguish good information from bad is, frankly, rare. The last thing we need is everyone's questions immediately being answered by a lying machine.
It's hard to overstate how dangerous it is that the first result you see when Googling is the utterly unreliable AI overview. When the answer to your question is right in front of you, most people aren't going to click links and hunt around for confirmation.
That makes so much sense. For me, it's hard to explain but it's like my trains of thought become disconnected. My thoughts are already so all over the place, but when I take cannabis I can't follow the thread anymore.

I don't find this to be the case for me, but many folks with ADHD say that coffee calms/relaxes them and even helps them sleep.
As for weed, I HATE the way it makes me feel, and I've often wondered if that's connected to the ADHD.
This is so real lol
One time I took Sudafed I stayed up all night completing unfinished artwork. Definitely should have been a clue.
Omg I say this all the timeβI should have known I had ADHD when I tried coke and it was nothing special. I just felt kind of... alert? Clear? And I didn't get carsick riding in a NYC cab. Now I take amphetamines every day lol.
and i wrote this a decade ago about jackson as the model response to trump-style politics www.slate.com/articles/new...
This was during the "lost years" when Lorne Michaels had left the show. Most stuff from this eraβat least the stuff not involving Eddy Murphyβhas been memory-holed.
Post from John Podhoretz on Twitter. Photo shows a big pile of snow on a city street and the post says "This pile is almost 7 feet high. How's it going to go away?"
I can't stop thinking about this post and wondering if it's gone away yet.
I hate to tell you this Bluesky, but mainstream centrist Democrats are not the root of every political failure, and leftists who refuse to support them aren't either. You're all wrong.
I'm sorry you view comic strips as perfidious?
If only
