Thanks, Maris!
Thanks, Maris!
I wrote about the first national book banning bill, which effectively seeks to erase trans people. At the end I include a link to let your reps know that you oppose this bill and all it stands for. lithub.com/why-we-must-...
Turns out lawlessness is not a winning strategy. See you at Nuremberg 2.0
So apparently Blick is trying to muscle in on the art supply distribution and pressure the smaller companies to buy from them at higher prices?
I need to look into this but bad Blick! Bad!
By banning authors as renowned as Plato, Texas A&M has staked out turf as the epicenter of higher educational censorship. Resistance can sometimes feel futile β but as @jennyboylan.bsky.social says here, we must stand up for Aggiesβ freedom to read, write, and learn.
LOVE your palette! BEAUTIFUL.
YESSSS! Go, Tricia, go! (Also, hiya, from another Tricia!)
#MSWL PLEASE send more sci-fi, fantasy, romance, and horror with "older" protagonists. If those bad asses are over 40, have "scars" earned through life experience, and still manage to "make it look easy," then I want your query. More info at www.triciaskinner.com/manuscript-w...
impeach him. try to do it once a month, if necessary. build the case over and over to not just the American people but to the world that this isnβt the way things should be here, that this isnβt the way we should use our power abroad.
Great job by everybody who let their state reps know a $550M tax break for the biggest corporations in the world shouldnβt have been part of an historic income tax bill.
This was a fight, and working Washingtonians won.
Looking for a way to stand up for trans people today? Here's something you can do RIGHT NOW:
Take ten minutes to get on the phone and help stop this violent, dangerous bill. The linked post has all the resources you need to make that call. Go go go
Having spent time among the strain of Christian weirdo backing this bill, know they are exceptionally motivated. One should expect that they have already made a ton of calls and requests for this action. Definitely speak now and loudly about this. (As if thereβs not already so much on our plates.)
Aging is learning that you just really need to stretch your hip flexors
TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS!!!!! PERIOD.
HUGS, Alison. I'm a bawling mess today, missing my friend. I miss their face, their smile, their ALIVENESS. FUCK everyone causing more pain right now. LOVE WILL WIN. BUT DAMN. Today hurts. Take care of you, my friend. Sending love.
Thank you, Leslie.
Oh no. Hugs, Zack. I'm just bawling today. Sending love right back. Love doesn't go away. It just grows. xoxoxo
Life is short. Life right now in this country is extra cruel. Hug your people. Tell them you love them. Often. Mourning the loss of a beloved friend. I will love you forever, H.
So proud of this community today

"My rep is a Republican, so what's the point of contacting them!" Here's my perspective on this. Thing about how miserable they are making you. OK? Give them some misery back. Yeah, they're probably going to vote the wrong way, but at least you can really annoy them about it. Plus...
Itβs punitive. This is a punitive action by a religious majority because the existence of trans ppl inherently questions the heteronormative order that replenishes their majority. The existence of trans ppl creates questions about gender that undermine the entire power structure they rely on.
It is very hard not to have a safe choice to use the bathroom in public.
It may be impossible to continue living, working, eating, etc without a valid driver's license if your life was built around driving and the assumption that your license wouldn't be invalidated overnight by the legislature.
As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. Itβs often said you never know when youβre living through history, so let me assure you: thatβs whatβs happening now.
Can I say how much I LOVE that the @pwhltorrent.bsky.social brought Megan Rapinoe to this press conference? BRILLIANT.
Pinoe: "....... you know I'm not gonna let it slide, right?"

For the first time since @projectsaltbox.bsky.social launched their DHS warehouse acquisition tracker, the number of canceled sales is higher than any of the other warehouse-related figures. We've reached a tipping point, folks.

She never lived to see this moment, but itβs worth remembering that none of this would have happened without Virginia Giuffre.
She had the courage to speak out against power and privilege when it was just her word against Andrewβs.
Thanks to her, justice & accountability may finally have its day.
Shut down Dilley.

It's nice for Europe to see one of our best people for once
There seems to be a lot of discussion about Gavin Newsom today.
I wanted to re-share this piece that I wrote, because I have a lot of center-to-left Dems that follow me that want to understand.
There are very good reasons transgender people do not like Gavin Newsom.
