We sat down with @buehlmeister.bsky.social to talk about the March 2026 traditional republishing of his self-published medieval horror novel Between Two Fires, the next installment in the Blacktongue Series, the joy of fictional languages, writing horror creatures, and more.
Something in the Walls is a potent, unsettling addition to the grimdark genre and will leave the back of your neck slick with sweat.
I had such a great conversation with @grimdarkmagazine.bsky.social about why the "Malevolent Seven" aren't typical heroes and the value of friendship in dark worlds.

A lean, action-packed adventure boasting a wonderfully weird setting.
It will definitely appeal to dark fantasy fans with its combination of horror and grim supernatural elements.
Set in the same world as her bestselling duology Divine Rivals, Rebecca Ross returns with Wild Reverence, where gods and goddesses exist in a realm adjacent to a mortal one.
Iβve been a fan of New Edge (or NESS) for quite a while now, and I was delighted to speak with Oliver Brackenbury about how he got into the genre, NESSβs origin story, the community surrounding the magazine, and where he hopes to take it in the future.
Love it mate! How does KotSk stack up against the show?
Whatβs everyone reading at the moment? I am currently absolutely HOOKED on Steel Gods by Richard Sean, The Will of the Many by James Islington, and Dark Age by a Pierce Brown.
We are once again partnering with @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social to release our second ever print edition! Our first print edition, issue #45 sold out quickly, so don't miss your chance to get in on what we think is one of the coolest thinks happening in the SFF magazine space!

Ward weaves her usual magic of mystery and subtlety, with easy prose and weighty chills.
Cover reveal and pre-orders live for Grimdark Magazine Issue 46!
This book deserves all the hype it is getting and more.
Author wearing 'Quarks Bar' shirt, holding award. Water in background, as he's standing outside in Queensland. His hair's looking good.
Shot of giant screen on stage at awards, announcing The Hidden God as the winner.
Sitting in auditorium on red chairs (looks like a cinema), brandishing award while wearing a t-shirt of the move The Thing. Next to me is a tall bloke wearing boring black shirt.
Just returned from a quick trip to Queensland, where I attended the Aurealis Awards ceremony. Absolutely elated to walk away with the win for Best Science Fiction Novella. Great night, spent with some great people.
Congrats to all the nominees and winners.
This video will go live on our Youtube channel in March. If you haven't checked out the channel, get yourself over there for a look!
Some screen grabs of our sixth recording. This time it's Pete Hirst (Peaky Blinders: The Black Box Bar, Ship of the Damned) reading @ryancahill.bsky.social 's dark fantasy story When The Skies Cried Crimson Rain. This is our longest video, 2x the length of anything we've put out before!
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a lot like its source material β easy to devour and easier to love.
The Song Rising is a grim, intimate, and unrelentingly effective addition to the series.
I found Fallout Season Two was a bit of a disappointment.
Recently, we got the chance to catch up with Alex Woodroe to discuss The Night Ship, her writing influences, her role at Tenebrous Press, and what is up next in her writing life.

I LOVE fantasy maps. If you grabbed an unsigned copy of The Scour by @richardswanauthor.bsky.social , then you will have seen the B&W version of this map. If you grabbed the limited signed hardcover edition released by @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social , you would have this map in full colour.

Assassinβs Creed: Shadows plunges players into the chaotic world of medieval Japan. Itβs a setting Assassinβs Creed players have wanted for yearsβafter all, what better chance to be a parkour-best stealth action assassin than becoming an actual ninja?
