The specifications for lego bricks are out there. It's based on a 8mm 1x1 brick size, 1.6mm walls, 4.8mm studs.
All I did was add "flex" points to account for differences in 3D printers.
They are compatible with regular legos. The standard is very simple.

A pretty decent unicorn sculpted in Blender for 3D printing.
With Chess sets being such a popular option for my next mode-a-thon, I decided to test myself and see if I can really do this.

That particular machine is probably functioning fine, but not worth the shipping. However, if you can find someone local who otherwise wouldn't be able to have one, it could be a good starter.
Prints like PLA with a matte finish. Don't know if I can say if it's stronger or not, but it works.
Second print on the @ff3dprinters is a #PrintABlok tool holder in @SliceWorx3D PPA-CF. It's not fancy, but it's useful and modular. www.printables.com/model/103726...
First print on the flashforge A5X. A little rough due to snags in the filament, but otherwise not bad.
