Investing in workers is the best way to be "prepared" for the future. You can build the strongest bridges and infrastructure, but without rested and fairly paid transport workers, there is no mobility - military or otherwise.

ETF stands with all workers fighting discrimination. Equal work deserves equal pay, with no exceptions and no delays.
The principle of equal pay has been in EU treaties since 1957, yet women workers were still paying the price. It is time to enforce equal pay supported by strong pay transparency rules. These tools must be implemented fully and not watered down or dismissed by employers as “too bureaucratic”.
Women workers across Europe continued to earn 12% less than men on average. This gap was not an accident. It was the result of undervaluing women’s labour, ignoring structural inequalities and delaying the reforms workers have demanded for decades. Gender must never be treated as a discount.

ETF is calling on European leaders to act and on the Serbian authorities to immediately reinstate the dismissed SKL union leaders. Workers defending their rights deserve protection, not punishment.
This attack on fundamental rights came just days before European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised Serbia’s progress on “rule of law and democracy.” But there can be no genuine progress without respect for trade union rights.
Two leaders of the air traffic controllers’ union SKL were unlawfully dismissed after leading a legitimate strike and standing up for their members’ rights. Their dismissal follows months of threats and pressure – part of a broader pattern of anti-union behaviour in Serbia’s aviation sector.
