Why Jasmine Crockett lost the Dem primary to James Talarico
Crockett embarked on her primary bid with a makeshift operation that lacked a campaign manager, a developed fundraising strategy and comprehensive infrastructure for a ground game.
Great post-mortem by @kaylaguo.bsky.social on why Jasmine Crockett's primary campaign crashed and burned:
“What happened with Jasmine was that name ID can only take you so far,” said Monique Alcala, the former executive director of the Texas Democratic Party.

No. I know @werd.io is brilliant but he is so off base if he thinks this is a bad idea :-). Even better if the anchor never calls it out.

It’s not just local news that matters, but news that is not afraid of being combative against framing/narratives that stoke division and harm and confusion and fear.
It is not enough for news to be local. It needs to have integrity.
The medium is dying because it does not capture people’s hearts.

I was hit by a (slow moving thank god) car 2 blocks from here many years ago. And apparently this is the second pedestrian accident in this stretch of Market in the last few weeks.

We went to Kinkao a few weeks ago and really liked it. It also has a strange door in the wall near the ceiling that makes you wonder where on earth that will go.

This post is wrong to say no media is covering this story. There is local and national on it.
Locally, KYUK in Bethel is all over this story for their community: www.kyuk.org
And they have just lost 70% of their budget to CPB cuts.

By the way, you can in fact run a media business where people give you money for goods and services. 56k+ people give The Onion ~$100 and we give them a year of newspapers. This business didn’t exist last year in this way. People will pay for good shit. Now’s the time to break glass and go for it.
