A delegation of government representatives from Latin American countries visited UKCEH Wallingford as part of a programme of cooperation and exchange on One Health between the UK and Latin America.

Denise Pallett attended an Impress the Chess meeting at Chesham town hall with researchers, citizen scientist and local people with a passion for their local river, the Chess. Denise was representing FDRI (see more: www.ceh.ac.uk/our-science/...) 🌊

@laurens-colours.bsky.social is a molecular ecologist researching biodiversity monitoring with #eDNA 🧬, from detecting invasive & endangered species to whole communities. She also works on community science and integrating eDNA into policy & is an award-winning science communicator & artist 👩🎨

@rosieelliott.bsky.social undertook training with of her CDT PhD cohort in Bangor which focused on One Health issues and environmental challenges arising from microbial activity and microbial pollution from agriculture, wastewater, septic tanks, and hospital discharges 🦠🚜💩🏥
@amycthorpe.bsky.social & Tim Goodall ran our latest sampling campaign for the MICRO-CYCLE project which will combine water chemistry, organic chemistry, DNA sequencing & microbial activity assays to understand the role of bacterioplankton in transforming & cycling organic matter along a river 🦠🌊
@rachelapayne.bsky.social & @istanton.bsky.social took a trip to their local sewage treatment plant to have an induction and take some practice samples for an upcoming sampling campaign investigating multidrug resistance in different population demographics 🦠🧫💩
