The last thing the North Inner City needs is more casinos preying on our communities. A casino that is already in breach of their planning conditions should definitely not be allowed to expand further into a residential area.

This is what happened when America switched sides:
My faith in the future of humanity restored. Overheard in Ballymun Library, a boy going out the door with his mother, turns and says to the Librarian:
“Thanks very much”
“You’re welcome”
“This is the best place ever”.

Stormont isn’t broken by accident. It protects wealth, sidelines communities and keeps failing on equality, public services and the future our children deserve. Thirty years of the same parties. Crisis after crisis. Managed decline sold as stability.

Is Mark Carney right? And even if he is right about middle-sized countries like Canada or Germany or the UK, what about small countries like Ireland, how does it work for us? David McWilliams is on the money: www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026...
This new report shows that the bottleneck to greater #sustainability is not #motivation, but #agency: People don’t know which actions matter most; feel constrained by cost; and feel unsupported by our political and economic systems.

Spelling Bee better get with the programme.
I welcome the withdrawal of the motion to rename Herzog Park in Dublin. I hope the concept is buried for good as a misguided move that Dublin’s Jewish community regard as an assault. Us non-Jews have a duty of care to the community, as we all do to other minorities.
I hope Dublin City Councillors, including @greenparty_ie Cllrs, vote NO to the misguided proposal to rename Herzog Park in Rathgar. He is no hero of mine, but as the most historically prominent member of Dublin’s Jewish community, it would be a significant slap in their face.
"MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN". The writing is on the White House wall, as Trump flounders in his "peace keeping" efforts in Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Palestine.

We’re deeply saddened to hear of Manchán’s passing. A candidate for the party in 2016, he was more importantly a passionate and skilled advocate for Irish language and culture, and an appreciation for the beauty and importance of nature.

Getting through Donnacha Ó Beacháin’s great book on the history of Russian colonialism of Ukraine, other former Soviet ‘members’ & conquests within Russian borders. Let it be said @DonnachaDCU pulls no punches. It’s what The Donald should have read before meeting Putin
Great win by Dublin, and to see Orlagh Nolan getting Woman of the Match is icing on the cake. Her father Con would be so proud of her today. #Dublin #LGF

“The ‘crazy right’ consistently elevates the temperature of political discourse through vicious polemics, fearmongering, the dissemination of fake news, & the manufacturing of outrage. Engaging in a contest with them on these terms is a losing proposition”
