Awe bless 'em. They can have quite the sense of humor. I pulled the reverse chariot on a daily pull and that day got a flat tire, chipped windshield and my battery went out. I should've been pissed, but I just kept laughing 🤣
I guess I didn't really respond to your original question. Sorry! I believe whether a deck is purchased or gifted, it's power comes from you and your intentions. If you have a rough reading with it, it's likely a message needed to come through. You can always cleanse and reset it with love & light.
Sharing is a beautiful part of tarot & I believe can strengthen your relationship with your deck & it's energy based on your intentions when using and sharing it. Approach with joy!
I would look at it more like showing & sharing a part of you, a bit of the sparkle from the entire crystal. Whether their response is one of jealousy, fear or other lower energy, it doesn't dampen your sparkle. Only you can allow that.
