Frieren rules. I love how they visually separate the different eras; Serie's era akin to LotR elves, then Flamme's era being Greco-roman, and now Fern's era as a sprawling medieval civilization. It really sells the passage of time.

Also, some kind of weasel dude? They were being harassed by a troop of monkeys.
This evening: Animal friends! Hippos both baby and grumpy.
Monkey with a missing arm, clutching papers in it's mouth?
This morning a flock of warthogs wandered past the pool. Good animal sightings given we still haven't left the hotel yet...
A pair of hippos showed up at our hotel to eat the lawn.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm always happy to chat comics!
It was good seeing you again! Sorry we didn't have more of a chance to catch up!
We're all set up at #TCAF at table 2089! I just found a box of out of print books, so for a very limited time we even have a few copies of Wayward Sisters, and Toronto Comics Vol 1,2, and 3!
Are you in town for #TCAF and curious about Canadian grant funding? Come to @allisonmotoole.bsky.social's #WordBalloon grants panel at 9am Friday, starring Victoria Day, Josh Rosen, and me!
There's still time to register at:

His schedule may be a bit jammed from here to eternity, but @meakoopa.bsky.social has some really thoughtful takes on truly mindless pop-culture trash. His Dumpster Raccoon events at the Revue Cinema have always been a lot of fun.
We're proud to announce the Kickstarter for our eleventh anthology, The City We Chose! Its 180+ pages of gorgeous about the cities that shape us, the paths that brought us there, and the whimsical fantasy cities that might have been!
Our new project launches next week! You can sign up to get notified the instant it launches:

I haven't used Shippsy myself but it seems pretty neat! I have family in the States I bully into shipping me stuff. :P
You can also use Amazon services to do the fulfillment for you; they got a plant out in Brampton, I believe. You can tell the printer to ship directly to their warehouse, and upload your backer list to them. They take a hefty cut, but if you have thousands of orders it'll save you weeks of work.
You can buy padded envelopes in bulk from Chit Chats or Stallion. Or uLine for cardboard mailers, though they have deeply unfortunate politics.
Printing costs scale with volume, while shipping remains a flat cost. If you plan to do fulfillment yourself, I recommend renting a storage unit that has access to a loading dock. Many printers won't ship to a residential address, or will charge extra to unload the books for you.
I find Chit Chats prices have spiked lately, but there's a new local competitor called Stallion that's worth checking out!
I got them printed on little drink coasters so that we can literally dunk on our OCs.
The super talented @gofishblues.bsky.social illustrated the cast of @pangolinart.bsky.social's tabletop game, The Siege of Punica! I'm really thrilled with how they came out.

It's not quite a reliable day job, but I'm also assembling a list of arts grants available to Ontario creators! If you ever want help writing up a grant proposal, please drop me an email at steven [at] tocomix [dot] com. I'm always happy to help if I can.

Hit up Uken, Big Blue Bubble or Zynga and look for asset generation work. Casual or mobile games are less of a religion than triple-A studios, and often offer a better work-life balance.
I'm assembling a list of grants available to comic creators in Ontario, Canada. Take a look and let me know if I've missed anything!

Comic anthologies or artbooks may be a good source of artists. Search for "$myGenre comic anthology" and hunt stories that conjure the right vibe.
I bought Leo a catnip pickle, and he is fully committing to it's murder
What the actual fuck
This is the whole point of AI. Itβs not to actually replace humans. Itβs to change your title from βhead writerβ to βassistant AI technician,β not credit you, and pay you half of what you were paid before
After a few weeks separated from my cats, I am finally reunited.
The final chapter dropped today! It was a very sweet ending, very satisfying. I believe there's one more adventurers bible book on the way, but that's kind of bonus content.
I'm jazzed for the anime to start in January!
