New: Cole Siteman is autistic and works in Burnside through the New Leaf program. But because of provincial cuts, his job may be in jeopardy.

“I just don’t understand why you’d take the most vulnerable people and cut their funding,” says his mother.

On Feb. 11, at roughly 2:30 a.m., a woman was found deceased inside a tent at a homeless encampment in Halifax, not far from the MacDonald Bridge. The woman’s death was not suspicious.

Hi, author of the book here and I can answer that: no, from what I could tell. Some of the land the city bought for the prison was called Rock Head Farm. It wasn't clear in records where the owner got that name.

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.

Q: How many stories can you cram onto the front page of a newspaper?
A: The Atlantic City Sunday Gazette for April 13, 1919 says the answer is 27!

I think two people mentioned it. Everyone else is heritage buildings this and heritage buildings that.

I once did an article on them, like a decade or so ago, and they seemed like they had a good idea of protecting green space, but they just keep being awful.

I forgot you once had really vibrant red hair!
