In our submission (p.4-9), we highlight our real concerns with the Governmentโs decision to copy and paste the definition of โsexโ from the Supreme Court ruling into Scottish law. The Cabinet Secretary for Justice has responded (p.17-19). But we still arenโt persuaded the Govt. has got this right.

Engenderโs submission (p.10-16) highlights why they think adding โsexโ to hate crime law is the wrong approach & won't protect women & girls from harm. In fact, they think it could make things worse, by undermining a gendered approach to the law that recognises the sexism & misogyny women face.

In increasingly challenging times of political and social struggle, it can feel hard to imagine a way through. While the LGBTQIA+ community has a long history of activism and resistance, many struggle to connect to it and understand how our past can shape our actions today.
